Manchester United’s star Paul Pogba is reportedly a target for French giants Paris Saint-Germain
PSG are going through one of the most exciting summer builds in their history. The nine times Ligue 1 winners have already acquired the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum.
While Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and now Paul Pogba look likely to be the next in line for PSG this summer. With a year left on the Frenchman’s contract at Old Trafford, Man United will be listening to offers for Pogba.
The midfielder has made 206 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring an impressive 38 goals and 42 assists. Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga has been linked to a switch to the Premier League side in the wake of reports (from RMC via Daily Mail) of possible Pogba departure.

Thus, it might mean that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already looking to find replacements for the French international which could see United prioritising a move for Eduardo Camavinga this summer.
Moving to France with PSG has its own appeal for Pogba. First of all, it’s his home country. Second, he will get to play for a team that is definitely going to fight for the Champions League title, having reached the final in 2020 and the semi-final in 2021.
Third, the appeal to play for Mauricio Pochettino, one of the most highly regarded coaches in world football has its own place.
With the signing of Pogba, PSG are not just looking to bolster their first-team options but also to increase their brand from every corner of the globe.

The Ligue 1 team’s shirt sales skyrocketed when they bought Neymar from Barcelona and Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in 2017. They expect to achieve a similar feat this year, with the acquisition of Pogba, who is a brand in himself in world football with almost 47 million followers on Instagram, 8.7m on Twitter and 23m on Facebook.
Combine those numbers and you will reach a roundabout number of 79 million, a figure greater than United Kingdom, Italy, and South Korea’s population.

Talks have already been held by the involved parties regarding the transfer fee, wages and bonuses. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and sporting director Leonardo are believed to have already discussed the sporting project and the club’s ambition to Pogba. The 28-year-old is thus thought to be interested in the idea of making a switch and evolving in Paris as one of their star men.
To me, PSG will become the clear favorites for the 2022 Champions League title if they wrap up the signing of Paul Pogba, Sergio Ramos, and Achraf Hakimi. They have done an exceptional piece of business this summer and appear to have a clear idea of where they want to strengthen.
Something which could not have been said of the French club in the previous transfer windows, where they had a knack of buying finished articles for enormous money, due to their wealthy owners.
