The speculations surrounding the contract extension of Aaron Ramsey has been doing the rounds for a long time now and today, Arsenal fans have totally gone into a frenzy after the hint dropped by the player’s agency.
Aaron Ramsey’s agency, Avid Sports & Entertainment Group dropped a hint about the signing of the contract extension by posting on their official Twitter account:
“Hoping for some big news today! #AvidSports”
Although, it’s impossible to say whether it definitely denotes anything on Aaron Ramsey since Avid does represent other clients. But, the ‘#AvidSports’ surely confirms that it has nothing to do with their entertainment group.
However, Arsenal fans do not require much encouragement to get optimistic about any good news, since good is available in very small counts when it comes to Gunners. The Gooners were quick to assume that the news certainly has something to do with Ramsey’s contract extension and added two and two by retweeting to the agency’s post.
The 27-year-old is in the last year of his contract with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2019. As a result, the club has reportedly been in talks with the player and his agency over an extension for a long time now, but couldn’t reach to an agreement.
Moreover, with his contract due next year, many clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea have been keeping a close eye on the player and will certainly not miss out on an opportunity to sign the Welshman.
And to the shock of the fans, things seem to go in the opposite direction when Aaron Ramsey was dropped from the side during the club’s second Premier League outing of the season against Chelsea. Besides, media reports suggested that Ramsey was considering a way out of the Emirates.
Aaron Ramsey, a fan favourite, has been leading the club for a few years now and after Wilshere leaving the club this summer for West Ham, the supporters would definitely not want the Welshman to leave.
Unai Emery, the man at the helm at the Emirates is an admirer of Aaron Ramsey and is keen to tie down the midfielder to a long-term contract.
Furthermore, the club officials at Arsenal wouldn’t definitely want to repeat the same, as they did with Sanchez.
