AMAZING | Manchester United Close to Agreeing Long Term Deal for € 65mil Striker

Marcus Rashford

Manchester United are set to tie Marcus Rashford down to a new long term bumper contract, according to reports.

The 21-year-old forward is one of the club’s most prized possessions and they are determined to hold on to him. According to reports in The Mirror, there has been a breakthrough in negotiations over a new deal.

The contract is set to keep him at Old Trafford for another six years, till at least the summer of 2025. His wages are also set to be bumped up to an eye-watering sum of £200,000-a-week, making him one of the best paid players at the club.

It is imperative that the club ensure Rashford’s future is secured. The young Englishman is attracting attention from several of Europe’s biggest clubs and there were fears he might choose to go abroad. Among his options were none other than Spain’s elite, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However, United are his boyhood club and where he got his major break into professional football. He has only continued to rise and mature since he burst onto the scene in 2016. Now into his 4th season as a first-team player, he has already established himself as one of the best young players in the league, if not the world.

Times weren’t always as rosy as they currently are though. At the start of the current season, times were incredibly hard under Jose Mourinho. Not just for Rashford, but the entire United squad. The mood had dropped and confidence was at an all time low. Several players fell out with the Portuguese manager as well. He would constantly take aim at some of his players in press conferences, and unfortunately for Rashford, he was one of those in the firing line.

However, since Mourinho got sacked in December, everything has changed for the better. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival has been met with a massive upturn in form. Rashford in particular, is loving life under the club legend. One of Solskjaer’s primary goals on arrival was to make Rashford a better finisher and restore his lost confidence. And boy has he.

Rashford now has 8 goals in his last 15 games. He is continuing to grow and is thriving off the manager’s confidence in him. His form has been so good, he has relegated £75m man Romelu Lukaku to the bench. With Anthony Martial also recently committing his long term future to United, the duo are set to be at the core of the club’s attempt to return to its trophy winning ways of old.
