Jose Mourinho Targets World Cup Finalist As Willian Alternative Who is Absolutely Perfect

Ante Rebic to United, Mahcester United target Ante Rebic

Ante Rebic has recently emerged as new transfer target for Manchester United after failing to sign main targets for wide position, Perisic, Willian, Bale and Ronaldo, according to reports in tonights papers.[spacer height=”30px”]

Manchester United have not had an ideal transfer window with Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant coming to Old Trafford but no “star” signings as such yet. With United returning to the Champions League and looking to replace Man city as the Premier League Champions, they were expected to have busy transfer window. They started on the right foot with signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Diogo Dalot from Porto but since then they have not signed anyone apart from goalkeeper Lee Grant. The Red Devils have been heavily linked with stars such as Toni Kroos, Willian, Jerome Boateng, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo but there has been no headway on these targets.[spacer height=”30px”]

Rebic starred in Croatia’s run to the final of 2018 FIFA World Cup with the recently concluded scoring a goal and impressing everyone with his work rate. The 24 years old has also gained interest from Bayern Munich and will be positive on a move away from Frankfurt.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Mourinho started hunt for winger with interest in Gareth Bale but with Ronaldo’s departure from Real he fancies his chances at being the star man at Madrid. Jose then turned his attention towards Chelsea winger Willian but the London club also received interest from Barcelona and Willian is likely to stay at Stamford Bridge or move to Camp Nou.

[spacer height=”30px”] Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic was latest in the mind of Mourinho who was also the star for Croatia alongside Rebic, even scoring in the final. He was linked with United last season also but the deal did not went through. Mourinho looked very keen on signing Croatian in this transfer window but Man United seemed reluctant to pay £80m for a player who has turned 30.[spacer height=”30px”]

“He went from Croatia to Borussia Dortmund, then to Wolfsburg, then to Inter. [spacer height=”20px”]

I do not know why he did not come to Manchester United, I wanted him.[spacer height=”20px”]

[spacer height=”30px”] Ante Rebic is a very good option for United as he is economically viable as well as the kind of wide player that Mourinho feels is essential to his system. A deal for him could be comparatively possible as Rebic is looking for a step up from Frankfurt although they could face competition from Bayern. Rebic featured 21 times for Frankfurt last season gathering 6 goals and 2 assists.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”] Mourinho loves to build whole teams that work as a unit rather than relying on a star man and Rebic will be very good for Red Devils. Rebic is good at providing crosses which will make Lukaku’s presence in the box even more dangerous than before. I believe the Croatian’s best attribute is his work rate going forward and while coming back to get ball back and that makes him an excellent addition to the squad. [spacer height=”30px”]

He is not likely to start for United as Sanchez, Lingard, Martial and Rashford all have already put in good performances. So he will have to fight for his place in the starting eleven. Rebic will be a better option for United than Perisic as he is younger and the player for the future as well as the present.[spacer height=”30px”]

If United manages to sign him then they will finally have a strong bench that is a basis for every title winning side.[spacer height=”30px”]

Former Man United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently visited United, where they were training and he quoted about Mourinho’s plan.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”] This has encouraged United fans as the Sweden has hinted at a star signing very soon but United will have to act quickly as the Premier League transfer window ends earlier than usual on 9th August.[spacer height=”30px”]
