According to the reports in Portugal, Red Devils are hopeful to sign the Sporting CP attacking midfielder, Bruno Fernandes. The deal is expected to be completed before the end of the next week.

The 24-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder has been in phenomenal form for Sporting CP this season. The player has scored 29 goals in 48 games across all the competitions for the club. Also, the player has registered 17 assists  for Sporting CP.

Following a superb season for the club, Bruno Fernandes is linked with many clubs. Manchester City and Manchester United are trying to vie the signature of the player. Both the clubs are trying to lure Bruno Fernandes to England. The player also helped Sporting CP to win the Taca de Portugal against FC Porto by converting the crucial penalty in the shootout.

Also, the same reports suggests that Manchester United are leading the race to find the Portugal’s ace. Red Devils are trying to pip the rivals, Manchester City, to lure the player towards Old Trafford. Manchester City have their £48.7 milliion bid rejected for the player who has a release clause of £100 million. According to reliable sports outlet Metro, Red Devils have offered a bid of £62 million for Bruno. The club expects to seal the deal before next weekend.

Fernandes has been in red hot form in the Portuguese domestic league and a fee of 70 mil euros might just prove to be a bargain in todays market if the players manages to adjust to the English top flight. The Portuguese top flight club have plenty of motivation to sell their prized asset given their stringent financial conditions and the nature of the market working against them, however its a question of who coughs up a better offer in order to land the attacker.

Bruno Fernandes in United ranks would definitely add a lot of balance, stability and versatility in the middle which is something United could use more of given the morbid and lacklustre performance of the midfield during the closing stages of the league this season.
