Arsenal are interested in Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser but a move may not materialise any time soon.
Unai Emery faced a winger crisis in his first term in-charge at the Emirates. Alex Iwobi proved to be inconsistent and Henrikh Mkhitaryan continued to disappoint fans. More than often, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was deployed as a winger to compensate this issue. At a point, even Ainsley Maitland-Niles was played as a right-winger.
The fact is clear, the Gunners need to make signings in that department.
However, though Emery has identified his target, his arrival might be very, very delayed. According to the Mirror, Fraser is a big priority this summer but he won’t be signing any papers before deadline day. Meaning, if he were to make a switch, it would happen only on the 8th of August.
The winger recorded a massive 14 league assists over the course of the last campaign — only second to Eden Hazard himself. The Scottish international also registered 7 goals. Very impressive numbers considering he plays for a humble side such as Bournemouth.
On the other hand, Fraser himself seems to be amused by all the Arsenal interest he’s getting.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s very nice,” he said when asked for his thoughts on the Arsenal links.“They are a huge club, a massive club.”
