Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Stade Rennes forward Ismaila Sarr and has already started negotiations with the French side to bring the young striker to London. Arsenal, who are in a rebuilding phase after the departure of long-serving manager Arsene Wenger, have had a season mixed with joy and distraught so far.
Their unexpected loss to Rennes in the Europa League was one of the lowest points for the club this season.

An injury-hit squad and inconsistent players have not helped Unai Emery’s cause this season. Though a place in next year’s Champions League is still achievable for Arsenal, the lack of consistency far from guarantees it. The club’s lack of business in the winter transfer window left the fans frustrated. The team need reinforcements, and it is believed that Unai Emery will turn towards 21-year-old Sarr in an attempt to bolster Arsenal’s attack.
Ismaila Sarr scored the 3rd goal against Arsenal when the French side hosted the Gunner and transfer negotiations were supposedly begun right after the game.According to Goal France, Sven Mislintat identified Ismaila Sarr as a potential target for the London club and despite Mislintat’s departure earlier this year, Arsenal will try to bring in Sarr to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Just 21 years of age, Sarr has already made 38 appearances for Stade Rennes this season scoring 10 times in the process. Sarr was also included in the Fifa 19 Ultimate Team of the week alongside another Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe.
Arsenal made a successive comeback against Rennes and turned a 3-1 deficit by scoring three goals to continue their journey in Europe. Speaking of the match, Emery said in the pre match conference,
“Tomorrow we need to be together and create a big atmosphere with our supporters to help us”.
“We need to play with high emotion, but taking clever/clear decisions on the pitch. These are both important issues. We need to control the 90 minutes, maybe more, we want to control but be on the game.”
Arsenal exactly did that and scored very early in the match, courtesy of Aubameyang and scored again at the stroke of 15th minute, a Matiland-Niles header from the far post. They increased their lead by a goal with Aubameyang again on the score sheet with a brilliant Kolasinac assist and brought back his infamous mask celebrations, this time it was a Black Panther mask.
Sarr is closely monitored by Arsenal from the last year and he has impressed many Arsenal fans with his performance in the first leg of the round of 16 tie. Arsenal has been missing a pacy right winger who takes down on full backs and technically astound and Sarr can fill that missing void for the Gunners.
