MAGNIFICENT | Luke Shaw REVEALS Who Will Become The Next Permanent United Manager

Shaw

Luke Shaw believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is certain to be given the Manchester United job full-time in the summer after their recent miraculous comeback against Paris Saint-Germain.

United secured one of the most memorable wins in their history against PSG on Tuesday. Having lost the first leg 2-0 at home, the club staged a dramatic comeback to win 3-1 at the Parc de Princes and incredibly progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. What makes it all the more remarkable is the fact that, going into the game, they had around ten injuries.

The likes of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata all missed out through injury. Paul Pogba was suspended as well. Shaw played the entire 90 minutes and put in a magnificent shift at full-back, pocketing Kylian Mbappe all game.

The game all but assured Solskjaer of the job in the summer. The club have been on an upward spiral in terms of form on the pitch. There is so much belief and unity amongst the squad as well. The Norwegian has completely turned the club around, and it looks like a whole new United as opposed to the dull and gloomy one under Jose Mourinho just a few months ago.

Solskjaer has now managed 17 games since his arrival. Some of the opponents he has faced include Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. To think he has taken them all on and beaten them all bar a draw against Liverpool is frankly incredible. His only defeat along the way came at the hands of PSG, whose victory was made void by the remarkable comeback win on Tuesday. Technically, he is still unbeaten.

Shaw, who has been fantastic in recent weeks, is an example of how much Ole has improved the side. Having started the season as the club’s first choice left-back, the defender put in some decent performances without really setting the world alight. In recent weeks though, he has started to form partnerships with players. His rampaging runs down the wing coupled with his superb tackling have made him a force to be reckoned with. He is happy again, and is starting to realize his full potential under Solskjaer.

After the magnificent recent results, it only makes sense that Solskjaer should stay. Speaking about the prospect of Ole being handed the job full time, Shaw said:

“I don’t think I need to say much after all these results, it looks certain.

We all love Ole and we love the job he’s done so far. We’re enjoying everything that’s going on at the moment and the results have shown that.

We’ve had a couple of blips but that’s nine away matches [won in a row] now, they’re not easy games, but it shows what Ole and his staff have done.

Long may that continue.”
