BREAKING | Ed Woodward Decides On The Next Permanent United Manager After Having A Four Hour Meeting With Him

Solskjaer, Arsedevils

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given the Manchester United job on a permanent basis after a meeting with Ed Woodward, according to reports.

Solskjaer has done a magnificent job since replacing Jose Mourinho, who was sacked in December after plunging the club into chaos. A shocking start to the season on the pitch plus multiple player vs manager controversies off it, United were a complete mess.

However, since Ole’s arrival, things are back to normal again. In fact, the mood around the club hasn’t been this good since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson. The players are happy again, and it is showing in the results on the pitch. Just before Mourinho got sacked, he said it would require a miracle for United to get into the top 4. His replacement has provided that miracle. The club have rocketed up to 4th, with 12 games left to go. Qualification for next season’s Champions League is in their hands now.

The fans are also happy with what they are seeing. Entertaining football has returned to Old Trafford, and there is hope that the club can compete for trophies once more.

Winning trophies is not what Solskjaer was brought in to do, though. The Norwegian was appointed with the objective of steadying a sinking ship. He was tasked with keeping United going till a more renowned, experienced manager was appointed in the summer. However, he took less than a month to achieve that objective. He also led them on a ten game unbeaten run in the process. It has forced the United board to genuinely consider having him at the helm on a permanent basis.

Of course, the club will wait till the summer to make an official announcement about a new manager. However, that has not stopped the media from constantly speculating about it. According to the latest reports in The Sun, Ole has been told he will be given the job permanently in the summer. The former United striker had dinner with the club’s CEO, Ed Woodward, in a meeting that lasted 3 hours.

According to eye witnesses, Solskjaer and Woodward ended the meeting with a handshake and a congratulations from the latter to the former. The source said:

“When me and my party got to the restaurant Ole and Ed were already there.

“They spent the whole time eating but mainly talking quietly.

“There were big smiles between them as they got up to go and shook hands before getting into separate Mercedes that were parked on the kerb outside.”

The Sun are notoriously unreliable but, if true, this story may prove to be interesting. A lot of rumors continue to circulate linking Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino to the job. A number of United fans still think that would be a wiser option. However, with the incredible job Solskjaer has done so far, it would be hard to deny him a chance at it full time.
