Three Incredible things that happened in Arsenal vs Swansea | Match Report

Swansea City

Arsenal welcomed Swansea City to the Emirates for matchday 10 and managed to go back home with a barely managed 2-1 win after trailing at half time.

Arsenal squeezed past Swansea City on Saturday thanks to a second-half resurgence to secure three points on Arsene Wenger’s 800th Premier League match in charge. Falling 1-0 down in 22 minutes it seemed all too familiar given our track record against Swansea City and the perennial debate about our players lacking the stomach to grind out results after conceding too quickly.

[spacer height=”30px”]

However for the third match in a row Arsenal managed to overturn a deficit and grasp the all important three points meaning after the draw at Chelsea we now have 12 points out of a possible 15 ( Damn Watford ).

[spacer height=”30px”]

Despite all the problems that the club has internally which were amply evident at the AGM on thursday evening, the players managed to steer clear of further controversy and overcome the booing that they had to endure at half time as they were trailing at home.

[spacer height=”30px”]

After failing behind to a Sam Clucas effort in the 22nd minute, Arsene Wenger seemed to have found the right things to say to his players in the break with his team scoring the first within 6 minutes of the restart thanks to a wonderful Kolasinac thundering strike.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Here are the four incredible things that we absolutely loved about our victory over Swansea City :

[spacer height=”30px”]

Emirates is our fortress :

[spacer height=”30px”]

“We want to make the Emirates a fortress. We’ve had three wins and hopefully we can build on that.”

[spacer height=”30px”]

That is what Aaron Ramsey had said after the 2-0 victory over West Brom and that is exactly what the team has continued to do with the man himself netting the winning goal after a neat assist from Kolasinac to bring up Ramsey’s 50th goal for the Gunners.

[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]

Basically that means we have won the last 13 matches at the Emirates in all competitions making it our highest winning run at home since the move from Highbury in 2006.

[spacer height=”30px”]

While this strong run of wins at home clearly has not translated on the road with all our losses this season coming away from home, a solid and winning foundation at home is something which has contributed to all League winning campaigns and it is certainly something to be proud of.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Kolasinac is everything Arsenal fans had dreamed of :

[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]

Sead Kolasinac was Arsenal’s primary attacking threat all throughout the 90 minutes. He was completely relentless in his drives forward, was always on the lookout for the crossfield pass when in the final third, and linked up brilliantly with Alexis Sanchez on the left wing throughout.

[spacer height=”30px”]

His driving runs were an absolutely pleasure to watch and we cannot begin to express how delighted we are to have a tanker like him join the Arsenal FC.

[spacer height=”30px”]

With each and every passing match day he is increasingly on his way to become the absolute signing of the summer in the Premier League. Such is his impact in every match and as Arsene Wenger had discussed in his post match analysis, he has simply grown with confidence after every single appearance.

[spacer height=”30px”]

I am sure there is a lot more coming from him and we just cant wait to discover how good a free signing can get.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Ramsey is scoring again :

[spacer height=”30px”]

The best part of Aaron Ramsey’s winner against Swansea was not about how skillful a shot it was, instead it wasnt skillful at all it was just a shot on target but it was a perfectly timed shot on target. It shows how composed he was when converting instead of trying to overdo a finish or trying to be too clever.

[spacer height=”30px”]

That is what the best finishers usually master as they develop. The composure to finish in front of the goals when the stakes are so exceptionally high is rare it to find and it what all great strikers have inherently.

[spacer height=”30px”]

That is precisely what Ramsey showed with a perfectly timed and precise shot on target to beat the keeper and provide the winning goal in a match that the entire team would have been horribly slated for had they lost or even drawn.

[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]

Well it also brought up his 50 goals in an Arsenal shirt and aside from Cesc Fabregas he is the only midfielder to have scored 50 goals for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Since the golden season of 2013/14 when his tally included 10 goals and 8 assists in 20 Premier League Starts, Ramsey has scored 6 in 29, 5 in 31, and 1 in 23. This year, he already has three in only nine appearances, including two in his last two.

[spacer height=”30px”]

So basically he is scoring again and we can only hope too many celebrities aren’t affected by it.
