It was the deadliest disaster in British soccer history, and the resulting fallout led to major changes in the way stadiums are designed and managed. The Hillsborough disaster also had a profound impact on the city of Liverpool and the club’s fans have never forgotten.

The “Miracle of Istanbul” on May 25, 2005

In one of the most improbable comebacks in soccer history, Liverpool overturned a 3-0 deficit at halftime to defeat AC Milan on penalties in the Champions League final. The Reds would go on to win the competition again in 2019, but the 2005 final remains a truly magical moment in the club’s history.

Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge of Liverpool was a truly special moment for the club. The German manager had built a reputation as one of the most exciting coaches in the world, and Liverpool fans were eager to see what he could do. Klopp didn’t disappoint, as his team put in a scintillating performance to destroy Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.
