Manchester United And Arsenal All Set For Bidding War for Incredibly Talented German Wonderkid

Maier Arsedevils

Manchester United and Arsenal are very keenly interested to be getting the signature of Hertha Berlin and Germany wonderkid Arne Maier. The Premier League rivals are all set for a bidding war as soon as the transfer window reopens in January according to The Sun.

The 18-year-old wonderkid has established himself as a regular for the Bundesliga side. The young German has made 16 appearances in all competitions already this season. Hertha Berlin currently sit on sixth place in the Bundesliga with 23 points from 14 games. They are just 4 points adrift of the reigning German Champions, Bayern Munich.

Maier is already being compared to his idol Toni Kroos and is expected to succeed him into the German National side. He is also tipped to be named in the German squad to be announced later this month.

Maier is a defensive midfielder who has neither scored or assisted a goal so far this season but has been very solid in holding the midfield. He is very highly valued by both the Premier League giants. Both the clubs can be an ideal landing place for the 18-year-old as Arsenal need a player like him to replace aging Mesut Ozil and contract rebel, Aaron Ramsey.

While Manchester United have struggled to find a perfect midfield trio. Maier may be an ideal player to partner Matic and Pogba in the Red Devils Midfield. Mourinho has been long searching for a player to free Paul Pogba and they may find an ideal player in the form of The German.

Arne Maier is valued about £15m, but going by the interests from two top Premier League clubs, Hertha Berlin won’t be asking for anything less than £30m.

Winter Transfer Window opens in January and both the sides are expected to be fighting for his signature to bolster their midfield of a very promising young talent.
