Four League Games Without A Win For Jose Mourinho And Manchester United As They Hold On To A Draw Against Arsenal

Four league games without a victory for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United as they hold on to a draw against Arsenal on Wednesday Night. Manchester United is dropping points as if they’re picking apples from a tree. This could potentially end up being the worst season for United in the post Ferguson era, even if many might argue against it and use David Moyes as the one worse than this.

The reason why this is being stressed and stretched so much, is mainly because of the fact that it’s United and Jose Mourinho. Both of them are serial winners and because of a temporary blip everyone is continuously pointing fingers at them and talking about their incompetency.

The game against Arsenal was one were neither Fergie nor Wenger were in the dugout for the first time in 32 years.
Even though it was stalemate between the sides, the match up did live up to it’s billing with both sides showing grit and determination while attacking but lacking the same while defending.

United started the game brightly with putting together a string of good passes together and trying to conjure up a breakthrough. Both sides had initially set up with a back five but United switched to back four later in the game.

Jose gave 20 year old Diogo Dalot his first Premier League start and a home debut. He had half a decent debut as he showed why he’s hailed as the right back for the next ten years, but was constantly under pressure due to Kolasinac and Ramsey and later in the game, due to Aubameyang, currently the leading goal scorer in Premier League.

The way United started the game,it seemed they were up for it after that dramatic and drastic draw against Southampton. Eric Bailly made a come back into the squad and put up a good show by in what was a hard and convincing performance which could very well raise questions about buying a new defender in January transfer window.

Marcos Rojo made his first start and displayed what the side has lacked for quite a while now, aggression. The result might not have been what everyone wanted but still there were positives to take and Gaffer will surely take them into note with the Red Derby coming up in two weeks time.

It was a fiesty 2-2 draw with as many as 6 yellow cards being brandished, three for each side. United are starting to make a name for themselves while having to comeback twice into the game and drag it back on level terms.

Lukaku and Pogba were dropped down to the bench, and it’s fair to say United played decent enough with the game finishing on level terms come half time. Even though Arsenal were on a 19 match unbeaten run, they have not won a game at Old Trafford over 12 years, which eventually played into United’s hand with United getting to preserve their home record against the Gunners.

If the first half was one to forget for David De Gea, he certainly did make up in the second half with keeping United in the game with a few brilliant saves.

One may agree that a draw was a fair result for both the sides but the problems which United are facing from the start of the season continue to persist. Manchester United now face Fulham on Saturday and with four games without a win, both Mourinho and United would look to brag the three points on Saturday.
