Yes, it’s that time again folks, where people you’ve never heard of are linked with Arsenal during the transfer window. Players names made up from the left over letters from a game of scrabble appear regularly in the sports pages allegedly on route to the Emirates and the latest appears to be Lille midfielder, Boubakary Soumare.
Boubakary Soumare is apparently the next big thing, something we’ve been hearing regularly since the likes of Neymar arrived on the world stage and hardly a month goes by without the uncovering of an emerging talent.
If reports are to be believed, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also in the hunt, but with Arsenal in the middle of yet another shake up and their northern rivals in a similar position, Real Madrid seems to be the most likely destination.
However, this is not the first time that the Red Devils have been linked with the French youngster. It’s reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in bringing Soumare to the Theatre of Dreams.
Quality wise, the Lille midfielder possesses excellent technical abilities. Boubakary Soumare is frightening on the counter and very effective when dribbling through the opposition defences and also has an unbelievable passing expertise.
On the subject Boubakary Soumare, Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, described him as:
“One of, if not the best midfielders of his generation.”

To be fair though I don’t know who Dan-Axel is, so that recommendation may not be that reliable but the fact that Zinedine Zidane rates him suggests that he has the potential to be a huge star.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are said to be in the mix for Max Aarons, Merih Demiral, Nathan Aké and Jérôme Boateng, but these deals will be subject to price, affordable structured payments or in the terms of Boateng, his wages.
