Manchester United Chase Cut Price Move For £70m Player That Solskjaer Had Likened To Cristiano Ronaldo

Zaha, Wilfred Zaha, Zaha linked to United

According to The Sun, Manchester United want Wilfried Zaha, their former winger, back to Old Trafford. The Ivorian currently plays for Crystal Palace and has been performing very well.

Zaha has earlier played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United’s newly appointed manager, at Cardiff City during his loan spell from United itself. They had a very good relationship at Cardiff City with Ole having high praised Zaha for having very quick feet like the young Cristiano Ronaldo.

Wilfred has had a very good record with the Eagles scoring 30 goals in the last 5 campaigns helping the side stay in the top flight. But, while playing for United back in 2013, he only played 2 official Premier League games before being sent on loan to Cardiff City and sold an year later to Crystal Palace.

Because of the performances delivered by the 26-year-old this season and in earlier seasons, the Eagles rate Zaha at around £70m, which is a lot.

However, Manchester United have a clause in his contract which would see them receive 25% of the profits from any deal struck for the player in the future. This presumably lowers the player’s price tag for the Red Devils and offers a huge profit whether the club bids for him or not.

Even though, United have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, the transfer chances of signing the young English prodigy are very bleak to say the least as Dortmund are unwilling to sell their star man. This would give room for the Devils to make a move for Wilfried.

With Solskjaer being appointed with the permanent managerial job at Old Trafford, the Norwegian would love to reunite with Zaha and make use of him for the upcoming season. The Ivorian international is a promising player with all the qualities a United winger should possess.

If United go for the 26-year-old, there will be a lot of expectations from him, but will be a great opportunity on his part to take his footballing career to a next level. But for now, nothing has been confirmed by both the clubs about a possible transfer and I have feeling that we aren’t going to hear anything about it until the end of the season.
