United Make Massive Decision On £90m Dortmund Star Whom They Deeply Covet

Sancho, Jadon Sancho, Sancho linked to United

Manchester United have ended their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, as the club do not feel the youngster is worth the hefty fee being demanded by his club.

Sancho is one of the hottest prospects in Europe at the moment and is wanted by every elite club on the continent. With a remarkable tally of 12 goals and 14 assists in 34 Bundesliga games, last season really was the breakthrough season for the young Englishman.

United were one of the first clubs to jump onto the Sancho train and keep tabs on his progress. The club have not had a proper winger in their squad since Nani, who left nearly 5 years ago. The right wing as been an issue ever since and the club appeared destined to finally resolve it and make Sancho their poster boy.

The former Manchester City youngster also appeared interested in the move, but the Old Trafford outfit’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League made negotiations complex and put a dent in their hopes of signing him.

Considering the number of top clubs eager to snap him up, it was always understood that Borussia Dortmund would be looking for a hefty fee for the teenager. However, if reports are to be believed, the Germans have slapped a price tag in the region of £80-90 million for him.

While that might seem a normal figure for a world class player in today’s inflated market, it is easy to forget that Sancho has only played 2 seasons as a professional player, and last season was his first as a regular player in the starting XI.

That is where United’s reservations about the fee come into play. An amount almost equivalent to their record signing of Paul Pogba, now being spent on a fresh 19-year-old seems very unreasonable.
