Borussia Dortmund Evaluating Manchester United’s Improved Bid for Jadon Sancho After Rejecting First Bid

Jadon Sancho alternatives, Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United appear to be making significant progress in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. The club have recently made an improved bid for the English forward, reported at around £75million and Dortmund are said to be presently considering the offer. However, the German club have valued the player at around £86million which might prove to be an obstacle.

United have been linked with a move for Sancho since last year. In the previous summer, the Red Devils made several attempts to sign the English player but were unsuccessfulThe two clubs could not agree on the transfer value. However Things look more optimistic this season, with his current contract ending in the summer of 2023, Borussia Dortmund are more inclined to selling the Sancho for a hefty fee while he is still in demand by top clubs.

Sancho has been a prominent and key figure at Borussia Dortmund over the last two seasons, along with the likes of Erling Haaland and Marco Reus. He has racked up 51 goals in 148 matches for the Bundesliga club across a span of 4 seasons and is currently representing England at the Euro 2020.

Sancho is a top player and would be a great addition to Solskjaer’s plans to set up a team worthy of becoming Premier League champions. The wide forward will be joining several of his English national team colleagues at Manchester United, including his long-time best friend, Marcus Rashford.

Several other clubs have also lined up bids for the Borussia Dortmund star, but so far, Manchester United’s transfer bid for the Sancho remains the most plausible. The report states that United have offered to pay £67million upfront along with £8million more in add-ons. Borussia Dortmund are said to be evaluating the offering presently even though they value Sancho at close to £80m.

Solskjaer will be hoping to get this deal done quickly as his sights are set on several other transfers. In addition to the Sancho deal, he needs to make sure he has enough budget left to make other deals go through, like the one with Varane, which seems very likely at this stage, as defence remains the key concern for the club.

What Would Sancho Bring to the United Team :

Sancho’s addition to the team would be a huge boost to the attacking frontline of Solskjaer’s team. The wide forward has great attacking traits that perfectly fit with the traditional style of attacking play that has always defined Manchester United.

Sancho could very well be the attacking threat that United have been lacking the past seasons. He is a talented player and is still very young. With Sancho in their ranks, United’s attacking prowess increases exponentially and its not hard to understand why, United have been vying extensively to secure his services for the second year in a row now.

Sancho’s good friendship with English forward Marcus Rashford is an added benefit. The two players could emulate this relationship on the field together with Edinson Cavani, who has just signed another one-year contract at the club. This could set up a deadly attacking trio up front, with Bruno Fernandes and Pogba supporting them in midfield along with McTominay, who has impressed with his form lately. Jadon is a fan favourite in England and I am sure the fans at Old Trafford would be absolutely delighted with his arrival.

The presence of Jadon Sancho at Manchester United could also energise the club’s other attacking options, including Mason Greenwood and Daniel James. The two youngsters have had a great run of development in recent seasons and could provide the manager with a larger depth of attacking options.
