Ole Gunnar REVEALS What he Thinks of Pochettino Taking Over as Permanent United Manager

Pochettino, United Pochettino links

Reports claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wasn’t the first choice manager and has been appointed only on an interim basis. The Reds were heavily linked with the current Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino. But the Argentine had no interest in leaving mid-season.

The former Red Devils forward’s Machester United managerial career has been off to a flying start as the Norwegian has won 5 out of 5 games so far for the Reds. He not only broke records for the best start by a Manchester United manager but also brought back the form of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

United have also been in a free-scoring run as they have managed 16 goals in those 5 games. This includes advancing to the 4th round of the FA Cup.

Moreover, reports also claim that Mauricio is going to be offered the post again in the summer at the end of the current season. The claims arise despite Pochettino having previously said that he is looking forward to managing Tottenham for a long time. Spurs have been very good under him but always have fallen short from winning any trophies.

Solskjaer was asked in an interview about Manchester United having enquired about Pochettino for taking over the job at the end of the current season. To which the Norwegian replied that the Reds interest of Pochettino “there for a reason” as the Spurs are doing so good under him.

“He’s done a very good job, The speculation is there for a reason because he’s done well but it’s not my job to rate different managers. My focus is on me and my team.”

It is certainly going to be an interesting summer for Manchester United as they have a big decision to take if they want to keep Solskjaer on a permanent basis or try again to obtain the services of Pochettino. The Argentine is going to be difficult to obtain for The Reds as he seems completely committed to The North London side.

“I hope, or I wish to be here 20 years, and decide to leave or to finish my career here. I am so focused here, and want to help the club to achieve what the club want to be in history. It would be fantastic. I am so happy to be here. I am so happy to work in that pressure. Why not?”

Pochettino has been constantly linked with joining Real Madrid but after his latest comments, it seems he is likely going to stay with Spurs for a long time.
