Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are looking to get back to winning ways after a damaging defeat against Brighton as they face Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
Looking ahead to Monday night, here's 7️⃣ memorable encounters with Tottenham from the past 7️⃣ decades… #MUFC

What we saw on last Sunday was one of the worst defensive performance from Manchester United in recent memory. They were really poor against Brighton side who had beaten them just 3 months back when the last season was coming to an end.
As a result they have already created a gap between them and City, Liverpool and Tottenham. They would look to make amends by facing Spurs at Old Trafford which they have to win desperately to keep pace and also to keep manager Jose Mourinho from getting sacked so early in the season.
Possible United Line-up against Spurs:
Goalkeeper- David de Gea
David de Gea will keep his place in the squad despite looking shaky in the last match largely due to his poor showing at the World Cup. But, currently he is the best goalkeeper in the world so we cant afford to bench him against top six rival.
Defenders: Lindelof, Smalling, Darmain, Young/Shaw
Both Lindelof and Bailly were poor against Brighton but Bailly was the one who took the game away from United’s hands when he conceded the penalty which made score 3-1 for Brighton. So, Lindelof might get the edge over Bailly and so is Smalling over Jones.
Darmian might return to the starting line-up to send Young either to the left flank or on the bench.
I think he might see himself out just for this match considering United have to win this match and Mourinho might opt for defensive solidity and not attack and as seen last season, he has trusted Young more defensively than Shaw. So, Young might be the right option.
Midfielders: Pogba, Fred, Pereira/Herrera
Pogba has been named captain by Mourinho till Valencia returns, will play most of the matches for United. So, his place is secured in that midfield. Fred, being the big name arrival in recent transfer window, will start in every big game like this one.
Lastly, Pereira might experience to start a big match like this so Mourinho might recall Herrera to slot in and get the job done as he always does.
Forwards: Lukaku, Martial, Lingard
Lukaku will keep his place ahead of Rashford after scoring last weekend. Since, Sanchez isn’t available for another 2 weeks, Mourinho might slot Martial in that left inside forward role. After having a good World Cup, Lingard might come in for his first start of the season on opposite flank in place of Mata.
Starting XI : De Gea, Darmian, Lindelof, Smalling, Young, Fred, Pogba, Herrera, Lukaku, Martial, Lingard.
