Paul Pogba suffered a hamstring injury 19 minutes into the match against FC Basel and limped off the pitch at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba arrived on a record transfer fee of £89.3m from Juventus.

After helping United clinch the Europa League title, Pogba slowly started gaining momentum to do justice to his price tag.

And after the arrival of Nemanja Matic, the Frenchman looked the same dangerous and staunch player he was at Juventus.

Pogba came off just after 19 minutes into the Champions League win over the Swiss champions and left Old Trafford on crutches.

According to Manchester Evening news, United are concerned that Paul Pogba might be out of action for six weeks with his hamstring injury. This rules him out for eight matches including next month’s trip to Liverpool and Benfica.

But according to Manchester United Official Website, it is uncertain how many matches the French midfielder will miss.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Despite rumours, Jose Mourinho refused to provide any specific time-frame of Pogba’s return but ruled him out of rest of the matches in September.

[spacer height=”30px”]

The Portuguese boss revealed that Paul Pogba has undergone tests to determine the harshness of the injury but is unsure of any duration.

Jose Mourinho provided update to MUTV at the Aon training complex stating:

“We know that, for a few matches, I don’t know how many, but I expect we are to play without Pogba for a few matches.”

[spacer height=”10px”]

“I just know that it’s a muscular injury, he’s out for the weekend match, that’s the only match I’m thinking about. I don’t think further than that.

Paul Pogba will miss the match on Sunday against Everton when Wayne Rooney faces his former team.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Mourinho has urged United fans to give a warm welcome to Wayne Rooney.

[spacer height=”20px”]

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]

“I think that he will get the welcome he deserves,”

[spacer height=”10px”]

“I think sometimes the word legend in this country comes too easy, that’s not his case, he’s a real legend, the number of goals, the number of trophies, he’s clearly one of the most important players in the history of Manchester United and I think the stadium will show him that respect he deserves.”

[spacer height=”30px”]

It is highly uncertain that Pogba would be sidelined for how many matches but Manchester United can keep going with their fine early season.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Paul Pogba surely strengthens the squad but misfortunes happen. Now Fellaini, who has also been in good form this season having scored 2 goals in 4 appearances will replace him on the pitch.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Can the Red Devils cope up without Pogba?

[spacer height=”30px”]

Will they be the same without the Frenchman?

[spacer height=”30px”]

Hope to see Manchester United have a wonderful and successful game at Old Trafford.
