Rumors indicate that Manchester United are prepared to begin talks with Paul Pogba and his agent over a luscious new contract. Recently, Zidane’s comments on Paul Pogba and the World Cup winner’s interest to play under the French legend created a havoc in the rumor mill. The comments seem to have sparked Real Madrid’s interest in pursuing the highly rated central midfielder.
Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are approaching the fag-end of their careers. It seems likely that Florentina Perez and the Real Madrid board would be interested in signing this wonderfully creative midfielder.
Money has never been really an issue for the famous Galacticos. Thus, they are closely following Paul Pogba’s activities at Old Trafford.
The French prodigy was signed three years ago from Juventus, for then a world record fee of £89m. Although, Paul Pogba still has two more years left on his present contract, multiple reports have claimed that the French international is keen on joining the Santiago Bernabeu in summer.
According to the Sun, Pogba is targeting wages in the range of £500K a week, which would make him the highest paid footballer in the club and the league. The recent wage demands is in direct reflection of what Alexis Sanchez earns at the club in spite of his meager contributions on the field. Paul Pogba feels that he is a vital team player and has done enough to warrant the high wages.

His controversial rifts with ex-manager Jose Mourinho and his flamboyant lifestyle suggested he had been wanting a way out of the club to pursue a playing career somewhere else in Europe. Although, he settled delightfully under the Norwegian, scoring and assisting goals at will, his agent feels that Pogba deserves more.
Ole has previously made it clear that Paul Pogba is an indispensable asset and wants to build the team around him in the forthcoming seasons. He views Paul as an upcoming United legend and also hails him as the future club captain.
Currently, the Frenchman currently earns around £300K a week. Now that they are vary of Real Madrid’s interest in their star player, United would be looking to upgrade his contract and secure the services of the Frenchman for a longer period.
Although, Paul is a fine midfielder, technically adept, physically gifted and has a magnificent vision, his disciplinary issues and attitude problems undo all the good in him. He is a complete footballer but his antics off the field spark off debates more often.
This has already proved costly for the club. Further, Mino Raiola, his agent, is no sober man. A man who is unbelievably cunning and can go to various shady extents.
It is up to Paul to decide whether he wants to play for United and grow his legacy as an academy graduate who came back to rescue his club, or to run away from the club that gave him all the love and more. The board should, in no way, be held for ransom by a player or his agent.
If that happens, the respect for the club starts dwindling and United with its stature all around the world should in no way let that happen. It would be best if that contract is extended with a settlement for wages.
The board should, in no way, settle for what’s being demanded. Incompetence of the board would be a subject of discussion worldwide if it keeps bowing down to a player’s whims and fancies.
