Have Manchester United Already Decided Against Hiring Ole For The Full Time Role ?

Solskjaer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Arsedevils

Manchester United have improved tremendously under their new interim manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since taking over the club, the Norwegian has taken the Red Devils on a dream run, shown the glimses of the Ferguson era.

United have dominated the Premier League under Ole, having won 9 of their last 11 league matches with 2 draws and a total of 12 wins out of 15 games in all competitions.

The two draws in the league came against Burnley and Liverpool, drawn at Old Trafford last week. Meanwhile, in other competitions, three convincing FA Cup victories against Reading, Arsenal and Chelsea and of course, the 2-0 drubbing against PSG in the Champions League.

Success has been hard to come by in the Champions League. United went down to PSG in a heart-breaking defeat at Old Trafford, which is also the only defeat under Solskjaer so far. The match which looked very even on paper, United suffered a sad defeat and injuries to their key players.

Except for the CL game, United looked in good shape all throughout. Even in that match, United had some pretty good chances and had it not been for the injuries, the outcome could have been possibly different.

But according to ESPN FC pundit and Premier league commentator Ian Darke, United should consider against him being at the wheel. Darke also mentioned the probability of United having already chosen their next manager.

And according to Ian Darke, this is a point worth noting.

“I wonder if one or two voices might say he’s done very, very well at the club, but when it came to Champions League, did he have a great enough hand on all the subplots and sophistication at that kind of level?”

“Manchester United may have already decided not to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the job”

Darke did say that Solskjaer is the favourite man to get the job after the amount of success and happiness he has brought to the club. But however, he did wonder the defeat to PSG can be the sign of warning bells ringing.

United in the past has been linked to the likes of Pochettino and Zidane, who have much greater experience than Solskjaer.

But, those claims have died down in recent times as Ole has clearly established himself as a favourite to the club. A top-four finish, which was almost a dream under Mourinho, is an eye-opening reality now.

United welcome Southampton in their next game, as they try to be in the race for a Champions league spot next season.

With the amount of success he has achieved in such a short span of time, replacing him with another manager might not end well with the Devils.

Whatever might be the result this season, if United do replace Solskjaer, it will be a tough thing to digest.
