Manchester United Plotting January Move to Resign Former Club Striker From Premier League Club

Josh kIng, Solskjaer

According to the transfer reports circulating in England, Ole Solskjaer, the caretaker manager at Manchester United for the rest of the season is making a case to sign Josh King in the January transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is off to an emphatic start to his managerial career at Manchester United. In his very first game as manager, The Reds thumped Cardiff City 5-1.

This was the first time since Sir Alex’ retirement that Manchester United put five goals past their opponents in a single match. Moreover, the match against Cardiff City rejuvenated United’s spine.

The Reds looked very much refreshing to watch, unlike during Jose Mourinho’s reign at Old trafford. The players were very aggressive and energized on the pitch and players looked to back the manager as well. Things seemed to have finally started to work for Manchester United this season.

As per reports from The Metro, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemed to bolster United’s attack even further by adding Bournemouth attacker Josh King to the team.

Josh King, 26-year-old Norwegian striker, is a former Manchester academy player and has worked with Solskjaer when the 46-year-old managed the reserves for the Reds. Josh King has five goals to his name this season as well as laying two assists for his team.

The caretaker manager has reportedly made up his mind on his first signing for the club as he has eyes on Bournemouth striker Josh King. Ole has been a huge fan of the fellow Norwegian ever since his time at Manchester United. Manchester United have a serious attacking problem which Ole would want to address in the upcoming Winter Transfer Market.

The Reds have struggled with options up front with Alexis Sanchez sidelined due to a hamstring injury even though, being very less useful for United this season. However, Ole received a major boost as the Chilean attacker returned to training at the Aon Training Complex.

Also, Romelu Lukaku has been misfiring since the start of the 2017-18 season. Therefore, Rashford seems the only out and out option. Anthony Martial has been the sole performer for the Reds whom Jose Mourinho used often but he has had some injury concerns too throughout the season.

Anyway, it won’t be easy to lure the Bournemouth striker as Eddie Howe is keen to have him stay at Dean Court. But, since Callum Wilson has been shining for the club, Josh King has struggled for minutes on the pitch and so may want a way out.

If he decides to explore his options, Howe may be powerless in stopping him from moving. Josh King may fetch Bournemouth about £25million which is definitely cheap considering United’s previous signings.

Along with Manchester United, rivals Tottenham Hotspur also seemed to be interested in signing the Norwegian International. Spurs are also in search for a backup for Harry Kane after seeing Fernando Llorente disappoint whenever given chance.

Premier League action returns on Boxing Day with Manchester United to host Huddersfield at Old Trafford.
