Manchester United’s Transfer Plans ‘to be delayed’ After Solskjaer’s Meeting With The Board Because of This Reason

Man United’s transfer plans could be delayed after their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met with the United board to finalise their summer transfer plans, but both parties were not able to agree upon a finalised budget.

The Man United Board recently appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their permanent manager on a three-year deal after the terrific job he has done at United, since he took over from Jose Mourinho. This is a clear indication that the united management has full faith in the Norwegian and they think that he is the right man to rebuild the club and take the club forward in the right direction.

As reported by Metro, Ole Gun Solskjaer met with the United board to discuss their transfer plans, but couldn’t agree upon the final budget as Champions league football for next season is still not guaranteed. If United manage to finish in the top 4, Solskjaer will be provided with extra budget, which will allow him to sign top players from across the Europe.

As Champions League football will not only generate extra revenue for them, which will eventually increase their budget, it will also attract their top targets like Kalidou Koulibaly, Raphel Varane, Jaden Sancho to the club as this players would be prefer to play in the Champions league rather than playing in the Europa league.

The United board is right in some aspect, considering the fact that they have to manage the club off the field. They need to look into financial and technical resources available at the club and make sure that the club is making enough profits every season and heading in the right direction.

However, this delay in transfer budget will act as roadblock in the transfers plans of Solskjaer as he will need to reassess his transfer targets.. With top players like Ander Herrera and Juan Mata might be leaving this summer, Solskjaer needs to find ideal replacements for them.

Another problem with this delay is that the top targets for United are also in radar of other rival clubs and if United do manage to finish in the top 4, they will be lagging in signing their targets as their rival clubs would look to act early on their targets and get them to sign for their club.

The delay in transfer plans will only hamper Solskjaer’s plans as Champions league football or not, Man United needs to rebuild their squad this summer and Solskjaer is the perfect man to do this job for them and if Solskjaer gets the proper financial support from the board, his United team will be able to bring back the glory to Manchester United.
