Three Brilliant Things Ole Gunnar Soljskaer Should Learn From 2-1 Victory Over Brighton.

United Vs Brighton

As United made it 7 out of 7 in the United Vs Brighton game and with the record of the best ever start to a managerial career in the Premier League just one win away for Ole, you might think United should be pretty content with the way things are currently going for them.

But this is United. Here the fans want nothing but the best. And even though, there are always gaps in the biggest of success-o-meters, many believe this United squad can do much better. And definitely better than a 2-1 home win against a side fighting relegation last season.

Meanwhile, Ole has broken the record of the best start as United manager winning six consecutive league games in the United Vs Brighton game. Earlier, the record was held by Sir Matt Busby with five wins.

So without further ado, let’s get into the 3 important things we learned from the win over Brighton.

Defensive Weaknesses Proven In The United Vs Brighton Game

Ironically, the defense seems to be the worst part of a team that played 2 and half seasons under Jose Mourinho. Without David De Gea’s heroics against Tottenham, Ole’s win streak would have stopped at 5 wins.

The inability and sub-par performances of the United defense to keep clean sheets is most visible in De Gea’s air punches after conceding a goal. 5-0 up against Cardiff and almost through to the 90th minute, a free kick allows Cardiff to pull one back and stops DDG from getting his 4 FPL clean sheet points. The match against Cardiff City ending 5-1 to De Gea’s disappointment.

I think David de Gea was more frustrated than satisfied that night, and why would he not be ? Being the world’s best goalkeeper, regularly pulling top notch saves out of his hat and then having 4 clean sheets out of 23 would enrage anyone.

The intensity of the attack in the United Vs Brighton match on Saturday afternoon could have been diluted with some better defending on the flanks and much better and more alert aerial presence. Until then, we risk Keeper Cool losing his temperament every time we concede.

Re-Emergence Of Paul Pogba As The Promised One

Hey? Anyone notice Paul Pogba’s turnaround in form lately? Too evident? I know, right?

5 goals and 4 assists since the change in management. Not many can argue that he has seen the biggest turnaround in life after Jose.

With the brilliance of his right foot and the pure speed and quickness of Rashford’s feet combining to push United over the finish line twice in 2 weeks, it is pretty obvious to everyone following football, who smiled the biggest smile after the departure of Mourinho was announced.

Add him to your FPL squad ASAP guys, Ole is here to stay, quite evidently. Caption THIS huh?

Raging Rashford Replaces Romelu

Everyone hated this about Mourinho. Everyone wanted this. Everyone got it. And everyone is happy now.

For a striker who has all the attributes on paper – strength, pace, positioning, power; Lukaku simply was not performing well and we all saw it. Mourinho’s stubbornness and blind faith in him made him the subject of heavy criticism and increased expectations…..which he did not fulfil.

A regular front three of Rashford, Martial and Lingard was what the fans desperately wanted to see under Mourinho and Ole is finally giving it to us, with a brutally unleashed dose of P-Pogba. Devastating, absolutely.

Just the exact same dosage was conferred to the Seagulls during the United Vs Brighton game.

Rashford has proved he deserves the praise and the hopes the homegrown lad carries are not futile. He has replaced Lukaku as the first choice number 9 and with (as i said) devastating effect. And at 21 years of age and having already played 150 games, the boy is going places.

Rashford for the Ballon D’Or 2021? Who knows, with this form and effect, it might just happen !
