Rumor mills keep building as tensions between United manager Jose Mourinho and star player Paul Pogba escalate to a new high and confirming that indeed there is unrest in the United camp.

It has been reported that the dressing room has taken sides with the parties, with most of the young players in the squad behind Pogba and some senior players backing Mourinho.

On Wednesday, at the training ground, ahead of United’s next match against West Ham, Mourinho and Pogba had a verbal spat. It has been confirmed that it was regarding an Instagram post by Pogba, taken during the match as the Frenchman, Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira were sitting in the hospitality section.

Due to slow WiFi at Old Trafford, the post got uploaded late and after the defeat against Derby where they were seen laughing. This was taken seriously by Mourinho and they had a heated talk about it, with Pogba visibly nonplussed.

Reportedly, Anthony Martial, Shaw, Pereira, Bailly and some other youngsters in the squad back Pogba, with senior players namely Nemanja Matic, Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Alexis Sanchez and club captain Antonio Valencia backing Mourinho.

Unrest in the United camp

All this comes after Pogba was stripped of the vice captaincy ahead of the Derby game on Tuesday, with the dressing room agreeing that the decision was neither ‘surprising’ nor ‘unpopular’.

“The only truth is that I made the decision of Paul not to be the second captain anymore. But no fall-out. No problems at all,” he said.

“The same person that decides Paul is not second captain anymore was exactly the same person that decides that Paul was the second captain, myself. I am the manager, I can make these decisions, no fall-out at all, no problems at all, just one decision that I don’t have to explain.”

Unrest in the United camp

United have had a poor start to this season, with 10 points in 6 games. Defeats to Brighton, Tottenham and Derby have compounded to Mourinho’s problems with the team having also crashed out of the Carabao cup. Clearly, there is unrest in the United camp.

We hope the problems and unrest in the United camp and dressing room are sorted out real quick to get this season back on track for the fans, club and the game itself.
