The real Reason Behind Manchester United’s Struggles this Season

Mata to Juventus

It is no secret that Manchester United camp is at unrest due to many reasons, most recently because of manager Jose Mourinho. Now reports are coming in, United captain Antonio Valencia is barely on speaking terms with Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho had already fallen out with key players which include their record signing Paul Pogba and highest earning player in England Alexis Sanchez, now it seems that even Antonio Valencia has lost the trust in Jose Mourinho.

This comes after being dropped from the squad against Derby County, which lost in the Carabao Cup. Despite being dropped from the squad, Mourinho was expecting him to turn up in the stadium and watch the game.

The Portuguese is already under serious threat of getting sacked following series of disappointing performances. United failed to score against Valencia in the midweek Champions League game which ended in 0-0 draw. Moreover, reports like this will just add fuel to fire in getting him sacked.

Antonio Valencia came from holiday, I think too much holiday for him,

His condition was not good when he came back. [He has an] injury, and also has to go back.”

Inconsistency in performances from various players has resulted in United struggling at 10th position in league table. They have also been knocked out of the League Cup by Derby County. Moreover, the draw in the last game of the Champions League against Valencia has put their UCL campaign in jeopardy as well.

“His Mouth is Probably Out of Control”- United Legend Lashes Out at Mourinho

Mourinho has repeatedly urged his players to perform better in games. Valencia started this season recovering from an injury. Mourinho has already stripped the current vice-captain Pogba, and now even with Valencia not in good terms with the manager things aren’t looking good for the club. Though, Mourinho hasn’t blamed any single person for poor performances and has said it’s a collective effort.

United will play struggling Newcastle side who are lying at 18th position in league table at home on Saturday evening.
