Manchester United are all set to take on West Ham United at the London Stadium, and there are possibilities of major changes on both the sides.
Manchester United have already secured the Champions league positions in the next season whereas it is a must win for West ham to avoid relegation, as they are only two points above relegation zone.
Their last encounter in October 2017 turned out to be seamlessly easy win for United, who won 4-0 without even breaking a sweat. This time however the tables have turned, as their recent form has not been quite up to the mark specially against relegation threatened teams.
West Ham’s fight to avoid relegation has given this match a lot of interest, as a loss against the Red Devils can severely affect their hopes of remaining in the top-tier.
“They all work well, even in weeks that hand in bad performances or bad results”
“I never has to say anything negative about the professionalism of the players during the season; this week is no different”
Ahead of the match Mourinho, had made it clear that Lukaku and Fellani would not be featuring in the match itself. While for West Ham, striker Javier Hernandez has been ruled out with a knee injury.
Probable Line-up: 4-3-3
Goal Keeper: David De Gea
There isn’t a doubt that De Gea would be replaced in the match. He has been leading the clean sheet charts and would like to add one more to it as United take on West Ham today.
Defenders: Blind, Smallings, Jones, Young
Blind could be in for Valencia who may miss the match due to muscle strain.
Mourinho had announced the availability of Phil Jones for the upcoming match against West Ham. Smalling would surely make the lineup given his recent defensive and goal scoring spree.
Ashley Young has been Mourinho’s top pick for left back this season and is expected to be in the lineup.
Midfielders: McTominay, Pogba, Mata
Mourinho may give a chance to the Scottish international, Scott Mctominay to play, given his recent performances.
Pogba has been named the Premier League player of the month for April and is expected to start the match. Mata has proved to be a vital in United’s success and could be expected to start the match against West Ham.
