What United Should Learn from their Defeat Against Wolves Which will Serve them Greatly Against Barcelona

Wolves Vs United, United predicted lineup Vs Wolves, Wolverhampton

It was a concerning defeat as Ole suffered his second defeat after Arsenal in a row. United lost to Wolverhampton in the FA Cup quarter final at the Molinuex Stadium.

United had fielded their near perfect best eleven, with De Gea being the only one out of the playing eleven. Rashford’s goal was a mere consolation, as he scored against Wolverhampton in the dying moments of the match.

Raul Jimenez scored the opener, and Diogo Jota doubled Wolves’ advantage as they looked to seal their berth at Wembley, which they did, with the 2-1 scoreline flattering United more than it should.

Ole was hugely disappointed with the result against Wolverhampton, which knocked United out of the FA Cup, and left them involved in just two competitions. The Premier League top four race is still on, with the third place still up for grabs, after Tottenham’s recent slip against Southampton has opened the race wide.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called this performance as the worst under his regime, and also commented that his player’s reverted back to Jose’s playing style during the game against Wolverhampton. It’s a huge Statement to throw towards the players, and the last time something like this happened, Jose Mourinho, the ex United boss, lost his job.

It’d be a little far-fetched to say that Ole will loose his job if he goes on like this, or he won’t be handed the job come the summer. But, this is his first outburst since his appointment, which does signify at least something.

Rashford has only good things to say about his current boss, as he believes his appointment has reignited the drive which has seen the club drag itself back into the top four race, and win the round of 16 UCL tie in a way exactly like United would’ve under Sir Alex.

Luke Shaw, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford are only some of the players who’ve voiced their opinion about handing Ole the job. There’s been a change of attitude, a change of mentality, a change of perspective since Ole was handed the job.

His three defeats do not make up for the case to deny him the job this summer. Manchester United came out on top in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, which was considered dead and buried when the draw was made with Mourinho still in charge. Now United are facing the biggest test under Ole in the quarter finals, with the Messi led Barcelona set to visit Old Trafford in April.
