After the days of glory, the Red Devils stare at a plethora of gloom all over as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces 2 consecutive defeats for the first time in his tenure. Manchester United were dominated all over and ground to dust at Molineux in their 2-1 FA Cup defeat in the Wolves Vs United clash.
With this, the 20-time league champions have been shown the exit door from the FA Cup. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was livid with their performance and he was also quoted as saying:
“This was the poorest we’ve played.”
Manchester United looked like playing against their own demons of the past when they gained possession, lost it cheaply, poor passing, no great opportunities created. To sum it all up, a Barca fan won’t lose a tiny wink of sleep after having watched their performance in the Wolves Vs United game.
United did almost nothing noteworthy barring the consolation 95th-minute goal by Marcus Rashford.
That @ManUtd goal against @Wolves was quite something though. Even despite the loss, this was really clinical from @MarcusRashford 👌🏾 pic.twitter.com/Z5BB5zRM7I

The earlier defeats could be attributed to the flurry of injuries that had hurdled their performances in the midfield and attacking third. But, even after playing a full-strength attack and losing to Wolves was a day to forget for both United and Solskjaer.
Sergio Romero and Diogo Dalot were the only second string players to start the proceedings for the Wolves Vs United on Saturday as Matic, Herrera, Lingard, Martial were back to resume their respective duties.
Courtesy Sergio Romero, the scoreline doesn’t look more worse for United. Many chances were created by Wolves but were stopped well by the Argentinian. Wolves went past him only twice in close successions to make it 2-0.
Solskjaer was absolutely devastated with the way the things panned out at Molineux. He was quoted as saying,
“I didn’t think we had enough quality in the last third, enough combination play,”
“We had decent dominance with the ball in the first half but that doesn’t help if you give the ball away and they can counter.”
“This was a big step backwards, mainly because of the quality of the possession and the passing.”
“We’ve had a great run and now we’ve had two defeats. Against Arsenal, we just couldn’t score, and this was poor.”

There is not much to say about the Red Devils’ performance in the Wolves Vs United encounter. Just one word to summarize it “Terrible”.
Solskjaer will hope this remains a one-time blunder for United. Otherwise, the season ahead will take United downhill.
