“I’ll rather have a one leg Ramsey than Xhaka” – Granit Xhaka Gets Roasted By Former Arsenal Player

Frimpong, Frimpong on Xhaka

It’s not exactly rare, for a retired professional footballer to launch an assault on a fellow player. If anything, these days, it’s a daily occurrence. Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong, is one in a long line of former professionals, probably with one eye on career in the media, who has lambasted a fellow professional.

The player in question is Granit Xhaka, who has suffered a torturous, inconsistent and difficult spell since his transfer in 2016 from Borussia Mönchengladbach, for a fee of between £30 and £35 million.

At the time, it was thought that Xhaka was going to be a hidden gem, another in a long line of Arsene Wenger’s untapped talents but sadly, that hasn’t been the case.

His spell at the Emirates has been blighted by errors and costly mistakes and with patience now at a premium, it looks likely that the Swiss international may have played his last game in an Arsenal shirt.

Xhaka has been guilty of costing the Gunners numerous games and points, similar to the giant, defensive goofball, Shkodran Mustafi. The fact is that he never progressed under Wenger and shows little sign of improvement under Emery.

Against Brighton, he managed to gift the visitors a penalty to put them back on level terms and the resulting draw, cost Arsenal any chance of a Champions League qualification slot in the Premier League.

It’s grossly unfair to only blame him for a series of games where Arsenal have struggled all across the park and where the team is collectively guilty of negligence, with their embarrassingly insipid performances.

However, Arsenal have managed to squander a total of 21 points against inferior oppositions such as Everton, Southampton, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Leicester and Brighton and Xhaka has made a negative contribution fairly regularly and it’s those horrible moments that tend to stick in the mind.

The pointless clumsy challenges, the inability to mark players, the unnecessary interventions, the lack of spatial awareness, the gormless ball watching and inability to control his area of the pitch, are just some of the accusations leveled at the player.

Fans are rounding up on the midfielder for his lack of diligence and quality with Emmanuel Frimpong pouring fuel on an already raging fire.

In a savage tweet, Emmanuel Frimpong announced:

“I’ll rather have a one leg Ramsey than Xhaka.”

Emmanuel Frimpong followed that up with a rather more irritable observation:

“Can’t fault effort from the players but how many FU***** TIMES THIS BLOODY XHAKA GIVE AWAY FREE GOALS HE DOES THAT CUS HE CANT MOVE AROUND THE PITCH LACK OF PACE WIN EUROPA NOW.”

He wasn’t finished there. He left the best for the last with the perfect analogy of the club and it’s transfer activity in recent years, when he noted:

“ Arsenal is like having a flat tyre instead of buying a new tyre you want to keep pumping it hoping it will solve the bloody problem”

Emery May Have To Start Shopping For Bargains This Summer And Here Are The Players Most Likely To Sign

Unai Emery can’t clear out as many players as he would perhaps want to and it remains to be seen if Xhaka avoids the inevitable cull due to take place this summer.

He’s had his chances under two managers and has managed to fall short of what is required in the Premier League. He is typical of Wenger’s latter signings, a cut price Zinedine Zidane, who had the skills of Robbie Savage and the global potential of Vinnie Jones.
