Sky pundit Opinion Confirms The Harsh Reality That Xhaka Is The New Weak-Link That Needs To Be Eradicated From The Team

Granit Xhaka

Granit Xhaka has become the new Shkodran Mustafi. The new weak link that must be eradicated to give Arsenal the chance to push on.
The Swiss international has become the number one whipping boy of the Emirates faithful, but not without good cause.

His disciplinary record is hardly brilliant. His catalogue of calamitous tackles and challenges are at a level where he could easily be referred to as a hatchet man, harking back to the diabolical 70’s.

However it’s not just the deed, it’s the fact that he never learns from his mistakes even though he has played at the highest level. This is not a novice with minimal experience, not an overzealous teenager who needs to curb his natural enthusiastic instincts.

Xhaka is 26 years of age and is in the category of senior professional, he’s not a six year old diving in for a ball as if his life depends on it.

It’s lucky that the football gods have enabled Xhaka to avoid breaking someones leg to the extent where they miss an entire season of their short career.

Yet again, Xhaka gifted the opposition a goal, with the type of two footed challenge that will always merit the referees finger pointing towards the spot. Absolutely no need for VAR ! To be honest, he was incredibly lucky not to add to his red card tally, which would have made Arsenal’s task a thousand percent harder at 2-0.

Graeme Souness, hardly the sugar plum fairy in a tackle, gave Xhaka both barrels for the incident on Sky when he said,

“This is something you learn in your first week as a professional footballer, stay on your feet at all times. Especially in the box, it’s an invitation for Son to go down. Xhaka is 26-years-old, disgraceful.”

Fans also voiced their disapproval with words such as ‘liability’ ‘unprofessional’ and ‘idiot’ One summed up the feeling of many by saying “I would sell Granit Xhaka tonight.”

He is yet another round Wenger peg in a non existent hole. A costly blunder but not just in terms of cash but in terms of goals conceded and points lost. Xhaka has conceded five penalties in the last two seasons, more than any other premier league player which sums up his silly tackles and lack of maturity at times. Who knows how many he and Mustafi have deprived Arsenal of.

Arsenal face Watford after the international break at Vicarage Road on September 15th in what will be treated as a must win game by the Gunners after only gaining one point from their last two games.

The Highbury Flyer
Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
