Saka Wants Out. I doubt it

Bukayo Saka, Bukayo Saka deal, England

There’s a rather unsettling and disturbing rumour that Bukayo Saka (19) is determined to leave Arsenal supposedly at the end of the season because he’s disappointed by results and feels that he’s carrying the team.

According to reports, Arsenal’s star player, who has been a revelation this season, wants to go to another team, preferably in Spain. It’s a story that will upset fans who have embraced the youngster since he made his way into the first team but before you hit the panic button, let’s look at him as a person.

He’s a humble and focused lad who has raved about the club and one that has seized his opportunities to become one of the most highly regarded newcomers of the modern game. His elevation and contribution have won praise, awards and he’s in contention for an England call-up for the Euro’s and World Cup squads.

Infact such has been his influence that Bookmakers like bestaucasinosites online casino have started offering Arsenal better odds at a win if his likelihood of being included in the team is high, something that speaks volumes about the kind of impact a 19 year old kid has had at the club.

Aside from that his current transfer valuation is said to be around £54m, a conservative estimate for this level of talent. Football.london went as far as suggesting that Saka’s value could reach £100m by the end of this campaign and it’s hard to disagree with the top figure, such is his form.

It would be a major body blow for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta to lose such a key player but Arsenal are always subject to transfer rumours regarding their best players and have been for years. The player, when interviewed has expressed nothing but his love for the club and desire to be part of the Arsenal revolution. He has never sounded or looked despondent in any way, so is it all whispers in the wind?

Behind any story of this kind is usually a greedy agent trying to manipulate wages or to get better contract terms for a bigger slice of the pie and we can only hope that the player shuts the door on such manipulation and skullduggery. Bukayo Saka recently spoke fondly of the club when he said:

“I was standing on the pitch at Old Trafford before the game – it was just my second-ever start in the Premier League – and it finally hit me: I’m in the Arsenal first team.”

“I had been here 10 years earlier with my dad, sitting in the away end with the Newcastle fans.”

He added:

“I hadn’t been to many stadiums at all, so it was a big moment for me, as an eight-year-old, to go to a game. But now, here I was as a player.”

“Being down on the pitch looking up at the fans in the stands, it really hit me. I realised what was starting to happen.”

While speaking to talkSPORT, Arsenal legend and ‘Invincible’ Ray Parlour said Bukayo Saka could earn himself a statue outside the Emirates if he stays at the club in the years to come to sit alongside Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Tony Adams. That’s what the player has to deal with and contemplate while his shadowy agent tries his best to engineer a situation to fill his pockets.

Saka is contracted until June 2024 and it’s unlikely that the player is looking to move even though the story came from an inside source. If I were Arsenal, I’d be looking to finish next season and then open up negotiations to bolt on another three years.
