Arsenal on the verge of snapping up young prospect and have apparently bid £37m for Sampdoria duo this transfer window. Arsenal were once shoppers at Harrods but they are now more likely to be seen looking for bargains in Poundland, such are their financial restrictions at present.

The reported sum of £45m for transfer window targets, leaves coach Unai Emery with very little wiggle room with so many holes to fill in the gunners lacklustre squad but there may be movement in the market later this week and possibly next. The Spanish coach has now discussed his plans for the transfer window and presented his employees with a list of targets and existing players that he no longer requires from the squad.
It’s thought that an approach for midfielder Mo Elneny is imminent this transfer window but Arsenal are also in the process of securing the services of Gabriel Martinelli according to the Italian press. This £6m deal has supposedly been concluded by the North London club’s head of international recruitment Francis Cagigao and new technical Director Edu.
The 17 year old Brazilian is thought to be a major prospect but the move will not happen this transfer window because the San Paolo striker is yet to turn 18. As for the arrival of Edu (the worst kept secret in the world) He is likely to make his appearance early in July, although it’s said that he is already working on deals for the transfer window with Cagigao as his right hand man.
Further indications that Edu is due to take up his post is the sudden association with a number of South American players such as Boca Juniors Nahitan Nandez and Emanuel Reynoso and River Plate star Exequiel Palacios. Out of the three, Palacios is thought to be the must have target.
However, Arsenal are also said to have offered £37m for Samdoria’s Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen. The deal makes sense because it covers two key positions for a creative midfielder and defender but I’m not convinced that the figures involved add up to anything tangible.

If Sampdoria are willing to sell in this transfer window, £37m could be seen as an opening bid and will probably rule out further interest unless there is a swap involved. Nahitan Nandez, is a Uruguayan central midfielder and that alone would be attractive to support the spine of the side which will include Lucas Torreira.
The 23 year old would be seen as an Aaron Ramsey upgrade and his work rate and energy would certainly be welcome. Nandez would add some bite in the middle and could, in theory pair up with Torreira at the expense of Xhaka.
Emanuel Reynoso (23) is more of an attacking midfielder and would provide support to the strikers whilst making the side less dependent on the flanks. The appealing thing is that he can work both areas of the midfield but he also makes himself available for breaks from the back . Very much an Emery player.
All three are excellent and offer something different but Exequiel Palacios is the complete player that would be top of the list this transfer window. Palacios combines artistry, vision and hard work and has the ability to provide a telling pass from fairly deep, which will be music to the ears of Aubameyang and Lacazette, who have struggled for decent service all season.

The Argentinian then advances to exploit the space and provide a crucial assist. He has great close control and with the ball at his feet, he will run the length of the pitch, literally dragging his team forward into attack. He has a range of passes, long and short and ticks all the boxes of stamina, passion and desire, as you would expect with a player from South America.
Arsenal are looking at 3 Superliga midfielders:
– Exequiel Palacio (20) 🇦🇷
– Nahitan Nández (23) 🇺🇾
– Emanuel Reynoso (23) 🇦🇷

In terms of money, two of the three South American candidates would cost less than the Sampdoria duo and present better value.
If more evidence were needed of Edu’s growing involvement in the transfer window, Arsenal have already been linked with Gremio and Argentina defender Walter Kannemann,
Brazilian youngster Antony and wonderkid Ramires but it’s doubtful that Arsenal can afford either of the last two this transfer window after their shambolic showing in the Europa league final, which has effectively cut their budget in half. Interesting times ahead, it’s fair to expect some deals to be concluded soon.
