Finances in Disarray: Arsenal’s board now Have the Perfect Excuse not to Break the Bank in the Summer

Mikel Arteta, Arteta, Pep Guardiola, Manchester City vs Arsenal, Mikel

Arsenal’s sudden and unexpected exit from the Europa League now puts Mikel Arteta under additional pressure to grab a top four slot even though they are ill prepared to participate in the Champions league, should it happen. The Premier League is so tight and Arsenal’s form is so erratic, that it would require a complete transformation in their fortunes, which is unlikely.

The Europa disaster obviously dents the transfer coffers and allows the suits in their ivory towers at the Emirates to peddle out their excuses in the summer. It’s thought that Mikel Arteta was told that reasonable funds would be available to reinvent the squad but that was dependent on a run in Europe’s second best cup for the failures of various domestic leagues and the drop outs from the Champions League.

I’m not disappointed that we are out of contention for a pretty worthless cup, but I am upset by the way we managed to organise our own exit over many seasons.

I’m tired of the club making excuses and pointing at others in the hope that some of the shit sticks, however, at least this situation allows them to keep a tight reign on their spending. Shocker !!!

It feels as if the steering wheel is stuck and the club is heading in ever decreasing circles. As I’ve said many times, success depends on investment opportunities and investment opportunities rely on success. It all smacks of the horse pushing the cart, with none of the top brass in the Arsenal hierarchy aware of how to address the problems they face.

Raul Sanllehi is becoming the main character in The emperor’s new clothes, I’m still not sure he is the saviour of the club or that he has the foggiest idea of how to steer the club in the right direction.

We’ll see. Stay Tuned to know more!

Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
