Five Simply Incredible Moments From The Manchester United Vs Arsenal 2-2 Draw

Manchester United vs Arsenal, Arsenal, Manchester United, Wenger vs Mourinho

Arsenal’s visit to Old Trafford was not what many fans would have expected. Arsenal’s amazing run of form and Manchester United’s poor performances in the Premier League meant that the Gunners came in as favourites to win the United vs Arsenal game.

Instead, what the fans got in the United vs Arsenal was an absolute cracker of a game. Both teams played with gusto, negating out each other’s efforts in a 2-2 draw.

A 4-goal thriller is not what people expect from Manchester United nowadays but their performance against the Gunners was a pleasant surprise for the supporters.

The United vs Arsenal match had its moment which supporters and critics will remember for a long time.

David de Gea’s Howler

David de Gea is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The Spanish number 1 has been United’s best player in the post-Ferguson era.

De Gea, who is usually associated with incredible saves, made an uncommon mistake for Manchester United vs Arsenal. The 4-times Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year Award winner let a seemingly easy attempt on his goal slip through his hand, allowing Arsenal to take the lead.

Herrera’s Assist

Ander Herrera had a fantastic game against Arsenal and was rewarded with an assist when Anthony Martial tapped the former’s pull back into an empty net.

Herrera, however, seemed to be off-side when Rojo hit his free-kick and many would claim that the should have been disallowed.

It was a matter of inches and very difficult to call in real time.

Earlier in the United vs Arsenal game, Herrera cleared Mustafi’ effort on goal off the goal line. He was unlucky on that occasion though, as the ball had crossed the line.

Bailly vs Aubameyang Footrace

This United vs Arsenal match will be remembered for many things, Bailly matching Aubameyang pace for pace being one such thing.

Aubameyang is lauded as one of the quickest footballers in the world. Bailly had a decent game on his return to the playing XI and him being able to keep up with someone like Aubameyang is something the Manchester United faithful will be excited about.

Lingard’s Goal

Arsenal took the lead for a second time in the game at the 68th minute through Rojo’s own goal. Arsenal would have expected to take home all three points home after their second goal. Jese Lingard had other ideas, though. He equalized for the home side just within a minute rescuing a point.

A defeat would have been an unfair result for both sides and Linard ensured that his team was not on the receiving end of an upsetting result in the United vs Arsenal game.

Guendouzi’s Hair Pull

Marouane Fellaini has often been criticised for being ‘naughty’ and elbowing his opponent while competing for the ball.

Many a time, the Belgian international has been clumsy in his challenges, causing his team problems. His foul on Guendouzi was nothing less than cynical and highly unprofessional.

It is not every day that we see a professional footballer pull another’s hair while attempting to defend against the opposition’s attack. It is something from this United vs Arsenal game that will not be forgotten for a long time.

The Manchester United midfielder floored the Arsenal youngster by pulling the latter’s hair. Fellaini escaped the scene without any severe punishment. However, it will be a matter of huge concern for United if the FA decides to take retrospective action against Fellaini.

United have already lost Martial and Shaw to injuries and it will be a huge blow to the Red Devil’s champions league hopes if they are rendered unable to field Fellaini as well ahead of the congested December fixture.
