The Red Devils in a Must-win Match | Team News, Injuries & Lineup – Bournemouth vs Man United

Bournemouth vs Man United

Let’s take a look at the team news as Man United play AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League at Vitality Stadium on Saturday. Man United drew 2-2 with Liverpool in their last Premier League match last weekend. The Red Devils continue to be in the sixth position on the league table with 49 points from 31 matches, trailing fifth-place Aston Villa by 11 points. However, Villa have played a match more than the Red Devils.

If Man United are to finish inside the top-five, they have to beat Bournemouth on Saturday. The Cherries are eight points behind the Red Devils and are in 12th position with 41 points from 31 matches. They are well ahead of the relegation zone, but will want to finish inside the top half of the table.

How Manchester United Have Lined Up Recently

Manchester United have been fielding their team in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro forming the double pivot in their latest matches. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho started on the left and right flanks respectively, in their last game and Bruno Fernandes played as the No 10 against Liverpool. Rasmus Hojlund continued as a centre-forward.

Changes We May See

Scott McTominay might make a comeback from injury at the Vitality Stadium tonight. However, the likes of Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Johnny Evans and Raphael Varane remain sidelined and will miss the match against the Cherries owing to injuries.

Manchester United’s Recent Form and Tactics

Erik ten Hag’s men fought back well against Liverpool in their last match, after the Reds had completely dominated them in the first half. United managed to go 2-1 ahead in the match, but the Merseysiders were able to equalize. The Red Devils continue to be consistently inconsistent and their performance overall leaves a lot to be desired.

United were once again a bit too defensive against Liverpool in the first half and allowed the latter to control the proceedings. The Red Devils bounced back in the second half, but it was largely because of the individual brilliance of their goal-scorers, Fernandes and Mainoo.

Manchester United Injuries to Consider

Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw will continue to be out of action owing to injuries. Man United will also miss most of their centre-backs for the Bournemouth tie, as Evans, Varane, Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez remain sidelined due to injury.

As a result, Erik ten Hag’s team will have to start with a depleted defense. 19-year-old Willy Kambwala may get another start in the heart of the United defense. Marcus Rashford also went off with an injury niggle in the Liverpool match, although he might have recovered by now and will be available to start.
