North London Derby – A Must-Win Game for the Gunners | Team News, Injuries & Predicted Lineup – Tottenham vs Arsenal

Spurs v Arsenal, Spurs vs Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

Today, let’s take a look at the team news for the Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal match to be played this Sunday. As the end of the season looms, and Liverpool look to be out of the title race after a 2-0 defeat to Everton, Arsenal and Manchester City are fighting in full force.

In the run of games to the end stands a familiar opponent for Arsenal – Tottenham Hotspur. The previous league fixture, which took place at the Emirates in September, between these two sides ended in a 2-2. Both the teams will be vying for a win, but this around, the Gunners will be visiting the Tottneham Hotspur Stadium.

The North London Derby is always one of the most entertaining games of the season, with the 2 teams having so much passion when playing against each other. This game is crucial to Arsenal’s title charge, as if they drop points against Tottenham, City will surely win the league. Let’s take a look at the team’s injuries and suspensions.

Injuries and Suspensions:

The Gunners are lucky to have only one player out, which is Jurrien Timber after he tore his ACL at the start of the season. However, the Dutch defender is looking better as the days go by, having scored for the Arsenal U21 team recently.

Spurs, on the other hand, are riddled with injuries, having the following players out – Destiny Udogie, Pedro Porro and Ryan Sessegnon are all out with thigh injuries, Fraser Forster with an ankle problem, and Richarlison and Manor Solomon with knee injuries.

Player to Watch Out For: Son Heung-min

Tottenham Hotspur’s very own Son Heung-min is a force to be reckoned with. With 24 G/A in 29 Premier League games this season (according to Transfermarkt), he is the player who will be the most worrisome for the Gunners defense.

With the South Korean scoring a brace in the reverse fixture last year, the Gunners can only hope he doesn’t replicate that performance. His expected goal level is 0.52 (according to footystats.org). Son will pull up to this game with a vengeance, and so will the rest of the Tottenham squad and Arsenal will need to be ready.

Arsenal Predicted Starting Lineup (4-3-3):

David Raya (GK); Ben White (RB), William Saliba (CB), Gabriel (CB), Takehiro Tomiyasu (LB); Martin Ødegaard (CM), Declan Rice (CDM), Jorginho (CM); Gabriel Martinelli (LW), Kai Havertz (ST), Bukayo Saka (RW).

Predicted Score:

Arsenal 2-0 Tottenham

We predict Arsenal to come out on top in this game. After the Gunners’ thrashing of Chelsea, and Spurs losing 4-0 to Newcastle United, it is unlikely that Tottenham will be able to to pull off an upset. Mikel Arteta’s men will come out on top, with goals from Havertz and Saka to be expected.
