The transfer window is coming to an early end on 9th August, Thursday, for the Premier League clubs whereas for all other leagues the window will shut at the end of August. And there has been a severe doubt regarding the future of Aaron Ramsey.
Consequently, the Londoners are afraid that they will lose their most experienced player on a free transfer next season. Arsenal were facing an arduous situation in order to keep their longest-serving players in this squad from leaving the Emirates as their rivals Chelsea were showing serious interest in signing the midfielder.
Despite interests from big clubs, the Welshman has cleared all the rumors and gossips with regard to his future and he does not want to leave the Emirates this season and is going to sign a new deal with the North London club. The midfielder and the club are near achieving an understanding over a new contract, according to various reports.Unai Emery, always wanted Ramsey to stay with the North Londoners.
The only issue being faced by Ramsey to get a new deal is that he wants assurance on his position; he made it clear that he wants to play in the middle of the pitch and not as a wide midfielder. The Londoners are offering a new 5-year deal to the Welsh international and a considerable increase in wages on his £110,000-per-week existing pay. ‘Footballing reasons’ are delaying the deal, according to Ramsey.
“Aaron is an important player for us, and the contract is one thing for the club and the player,” Emery said last month.
“For me, I want him to stay with us, to work with us, to give the team the big performance.”
“We are communicating,” Ramsey said. “My agent and the club are speaking but are yet to come to an agreement… for football reasons. This is a great club to be at and I’m excited to get going under this manager. We’re just yet to come to an agreement.
“It’s my decision. Whatever I decide to do, that’s on me. Do I feel under pressure? No. The only thing that makes it awkward is you keep asking the questions. It’s like having a baby in the car saying ‘Are we there yet, are we there yet?
“I’m a player who always gives 100 percent regardless of what’s going on. I will give everything to achieve something special this season. I’ve got a year left and I’m looking forward to being in an Arsenal shirt in the new season. We have to come to an agreement with what we want, so maybe something might happen.
“My preferred position is in the middle of the park! I’ve made it clear many, many times that I don’t like playing out wide.
“It hasn’t happened to me at club level before where a new manager has come in. You have to give everything in every session and every game. So if he likes what he sees, he likes what he sees. If he doesn’t, he doesn’t. It’s important for a new manager to make his ideas clear. He’s passionate, tactically we’ve been doing a lot of work. I’m excited. All the players are looking forward to this.”
It is evident that sooner or later the former Cardiff star is going to sign a new deal as the manager seems to like the player’s playing style and wants him to be in the team.
Moreover, the player himself wants to be at the club, it has been 10 long and successful years for Ramsey at the Emirates and still has no desire to leave the club. Because of his such great experience and his leadership qualities, Unai Emery wants to name him in his 5 named captains.
An Instagram post on Arsenal’s official page showed the midfielder holding a camera with a huge grin on his face along with a caption saying: “#Rambo enjoying photocall #Arsenal.” Telegraph, the London giants are very close to agreeing a deal with their star man.
“The captaincy is a massive responsibility and it would be an honour to captain this club,” Ramsey said, smiling.
“The manager is yet to decide so we’ll have to wait and see. But if the opportunity is there, I don’t think any player would say no. I’m no different.”
This just clears everything that Ramsey will definitely be in red and white not only for this upcoming season but for next few seasons. Me, being a Chelsea fan, wanted the Blues to sign the Arsenal midfielder but for me personally, him signing a new deal with Emirates would be the best option for him. He has been at the club for 10 years now and he won’t need to time to adapt even under new management but under a new club he would take time to get comfortable with the new surroundings.
