Arsenal Fans Not Happy With Mkhitaryan’s Performance Against Liverpool

Arsenal, who started the season trying out to be different from what they were till last year, the team not only proved that they were changing, they surprised the whole wide world with a 10-match-winning streak with a very happening latest Premier League match against unbeaten Liverpool which ended in a 1-1 draw. Attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was subject of criticism after a draw for his poor performance compared to his impressive team-mates.

Though it looks like Liverpool are pushing for the title this season, making a comeback of their own since the past few years, the team was greeted with a very organized and well-paced Arsenal who kept the game live and competitive till the last second.

Even after such a fantastic progress of a team, the fans were seen to not be happy with our attacking midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan. In a high-paced match against the likes of Liverpool, having someone who is a proven veteran who can keep his head on a swivel is quite useful, but it seems that our veteran wasn’t in his known form against Liverpool.

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were seen in their best forms against Liverpool, giving their opponents a hard time, but the more important passes always seemed to fall on Mkhitaryan, and needless to explain the sad reacts from fans, our world-class midfielder wasn’t able to convert any of those fantastic passes to goals.

Hundreds of fans lashed out on this matter on Twitter, later after the game, while some cursed the midfielder, others were just purely disappointed to see the world-class footballer fail to produce and show his worth on an important match.

Alexandre Lacazette’s brilliant equalizer ensured that Arsenal’s unbeaten run does not end, as Liverpool were put ahead by James Milner in the 62nd minute following a mistake made by Leno, our young new goalkeeper.

All in all, it might not have been his best match but given the need for experience against a team like Liverpool and the genius that Unai Emery is, he might have his own reasons for lining-up Mkhitaryan in attack, and as fans, who have trusted the new boss this far, we should just let it play out and watch, as Unai casts his magic on our team.
