Boost for the Red Devils as Three First-Team Players Return – Team News & Predicted Line-Up | How United’s Starting XI Would Look Like Against Arsenal

Arsenal vs Manchester United, Arsenal vs Man United

Manchester United travel to the Emirates facing Arsenal on Saturday as the Red Devils look to find momentum following a tumultuous period of league results. Heading into the weekend on the back of a disheartening result against Liverpool, United will be looking to bounce back into the race for Europe; aiming to gain maximum points in hopes of securing, at least, Europa League football next season.

The highly-anticipated announcement of Erik Ten Hag as United’s permanent manager starting next season has seemingly re-ignited the fan base amidst a palpable disillusionment vis-à-vis to the squad and club moving forward. However, with the team continuing to lack application and desire on the pitch, it remains to be seen if the Dutchman succeeds in making the necessary changes at the club.

Nevertheless, Manchester United will be facing an Arsenal side keen on top-four and fresh on the back of an invigorating result against Chelsea on Wednesday. Saturday’s lip-smacking encounter at the Emirates is likely to provide an enthralling watch for both sets of fans.

Ralf Rangnick remains without the services of Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani, with the former unexpected to return for the remaining fixtures. Fred and Paul Pogba emerge as the only other absentees, while the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Scott McTominay, and Raphael Varane are all expected to slot into the starting line-up facing the North London side on Saturday.

Manchester United Starting Line-Up Against Arsenal

Goalkeeper

David De Gea (GK): In contention for the club’s Player of the Season Award, De Gea remains amongst United’s better-performing players this season. Expected to remain between the sticks for the foreseeable future, the Spaniard will be keen on adding to his meagre amount of clean sheets over the remainder of the season.

Defenders

Diogo Dalot (RB): Having been granted significant game-time in recent weeks, Dalot remains amongst the team’s better-performing defenders this season. Expected to play a vital role under Ten Hag, Dalot will be keen on delivering notable performances over the remaining fixtures.

Raphael Varane (RCB): United’s most reliant centre-back this season, Varane is likely to return to the starting line-up after missing out due to injury in recent weeks. Expected to play a vital role if the club is to secure European football for next season, the Frenchman will be keen on improving United’s defensive performances over the coming weeks.

Victor Lindelof (LCB): Although having struggled for consistency in recent weeks, Lindelof remains amongst the team’s reliable defenders this season. With Harry Maguire’s participation uncertain, the Swedish international is likely to retain his place in the starting line-up on Saturday.

Alex Telles (LB): Having missed out against Liverpool, Telles is likely to return to the starting line-up against the Gunners. Although having failed to deliver notable performances hitherto, the Brazilian full-back will be looking to improve his contributions over the coming weeks.

Midfielders

Nemanja Matic (CDM): Amongst United’s more reliable players, Matic is likely to retain his place in midfield on Saturday. With the team facing a crisis in midfield, the Serbian is expected to an increased amount of minutes over the coming fixtures.

Scott McTominay (CM): Having returned from injury, McTominay is expected to slot back into the Manchester United starting line-up against Arsenal. With the team lacking a midfield general, it remains to be seen if the Scotsman succeeds in improving his performances over the coming weeks.

Bruno Fernandes (CAM): With none of the squad players expected to replace him, Fernandes is likely to remain a starter for the remainder of the season. Having been amongst the team’s most frustrating performers in recent months, the midfielder will be looking to improve his overall contributions over the coming weeks.

Forwards

Anthony Elanga (RW): Having been amongst the team’s handful of promising youngsters this season, Elanga is likely to remain a part of Rangnick’s starting line-up over the remainder of the campaign. However, with the team struggling to find the back of the net, the winger will be keen on contributing to the team’s prospects over the coming weeks.
