Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Roma youngster Cengiz Under for a sum of €50 million in the January transfer window.

Cengiz Under has been a revelation for the Serie A giants since his move from Istanbul Başakşehir last season. He has since scored 9 goals in 38 games for the capital club, emerging as one of the most promising young talents in European football.
Arsenal are keen to bolster their options in the right wing position where they have tried a lot of options including Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and none of them is said to have satisfied manager Unai Emery’s expectations.
Arsenal’s target Cengiz Under is a pacy player with an vision in front of goal, having scored 5 goals this season and also having 4 assists to his credit, proving that he also has an eye for a pass.
Arsenal are in need of a versatile player to provide width along a forward line in a squad brimming with options better suited to playing through the middle and signing the 21 year old Cengiz may fix one of their starting positions.

The Turkish international himself has hinted that he wants to spend the majority of his career in the Premier League.
“Among the leagues I want to play in are La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League, but I want to play in the Premier League the most.”
he told Millet in 2017.
However, Roma are also aware of the interest in the youngster but Roma’s Director of football, Monchi was uncertain if they will offer Cengiz a new deal.
“We haven’t decided anything for Cengiz Under yet”
Monchi told before Giallarosi 1-0 loss to Udinese.
“He is very young, he is improving.”
“But this is not the right moment to discuss a new contract and he must continue the growth process.”
“Let’s leave him in peace to mature at his own pace. What needs to come will come in good time.”
With Danny Welbeck’s contract running out next summer and Iwobi lacking that end-product, Under will be an enhanced replacement for Welbeck and Iwobi. And being only 21, Cengiz still has time to develop and will be worth of each penny of the €50 million price.
Arsenal are in a transition phase, with a great manager in Unai Emery. He needs atleast two transfer windows to get his best starting-11.

Securing the transfer of Cengiz Under will be a big boost, as his pace and technical ability along with his determined and disciplined attitude will be key in a side that will aim to challenge for title next season.
