Manchester United are ready to give contract extension to five senior team players. Erik ten Hag has confirmed in a recent interview that the club is ready to trigger the options of extending the contract of the following five players – David de Gea is back to his best while Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot and Fred are all key players in the Dutch manager’s system.
Meanwhile, the Glazers are now willing to sell the club. The change of ownership might help United quickly sort out this situation. However, that has gone under the radar for the last few weeks as the World Cup has been in full flow.
It is crucial for the Red Devils to renew the contracts of all the five players mentioned above as they will be entering the last six months of their contracts in January.

This is what Erik ten Hag had to say when asked about the contractual situation at the club,
“We are talking with them to extend their contracts but we are in control because on all the players we have options and we will exercise these options.”
Marcus Rashford has generated interest from PSG after finding his form back under Erik ten Hag. PSG President Al Nasser-Khelaifi was very straightforward about the club’s interest in the Englishman:
“To have Rashford for free, every club would definitely run after him. We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and there was interest.”

The Manchester United players have had a very good World Cup overall and other clubs would have surely taken notes to make moves in the winter transfer window. Ten Hag and Co. will have to be on their feet to avoid this situation while also not compromising their own transfer strategy for January.
Why Is There Little To No Doubt Over United Extending The Contract Of These Five Players?
The player who has found life back under Erik ten Hag is the 25-year-old forward Marcus Rashford. He had a horrible season before the arrival of Ten Hag which led to speculations about his future away from Old Trafford. He is currently United’s top scorer this season and also the joint-top scorer for England in this World Cup alongside Bukayo Saka.

David de Gea is one of the senior-most players in the squad after spending over 10 years at Manchester United. Although he suffered a loss of form a couple of seasons ago, he is now back to his best and securing results for his teammates. He is certainly a player that deserves a testimonial match for Manchester United sooner or later.
The most improved player under Erik ten Hag has to be Diogo Dalot. He has become undroppable and has started every game for the Red Devils since the start of the season. He joined United in 2018 and even spent 1 season on loan at AC Milan. He has cemented his position in the starting lineup, making it difficult for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to get back.
Fred and Luke Shaw are also key players but are fighting for their places in the starting XI considering the squad depth United have in those positions. Both have made their importance clear to the manager with their performances this season.

It is a no-brainer for Manchester United fans that the club wants all five of these players to stay in the long run. United will be looking to bring back the glory days, which was once a formality during Sir Alex Ferguson’s tenure.
