Manchester United sign Spanish youngster Arnau Puigmal from Espanyol as reported by the news outlet The Independent.
Arnau Puigmal has been with Espanyol for seven years and played for the Spanish side’s Cadete A team.
The Spanish midfielder was named most valuable player at the Mediterranean International Cup- a cup competition Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas starred in according to Manchester Evening News.
According to the reports in England by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United completed the signing of Spanish wonder-kid Arnau Puigmal from La Liga side Espanyol.
Arnau Puigmal signed the contract with the Red Devils as far early as May but couldn’t complete the move due to international clearance as reported by news outlet Sport.
The wonder-kid confirmed his move to United by sharing a photo on Instagram along with club legend Andy Cole at the Carrington training base. Puigmal wrote:
“Very happy and proud to announce that I am a new Manchester United player,’ the accompanying caption read. ‘A dream come true. It’s time to work, come on red devils!”

Arnau Puigmal is considered as an imposing central midfielder who is very strong and confident on the ball as well as being adept at retaining possesion.
The young Spanish international was considered as the ‘star’ of the Espanyol’s academy. His departure will be a blow to Espanyol as they hoped he would progress into the first team in the coming years.
Though the youth international is far away from breaking into the first team, its a boost for United’s academy as they add another wonder-kid to their ranks.
Arnau Puigmal is expected to join other fellow new signings Di’Shon Bernard from Chelsea, Largie Ramazani from Charlton Athletic and Aliou Traore from Paris Saint-Germain in United’s academy as contract scholars.
This signings is set to boost Manchester United’s academy recruitment drive under the guidance of Nicky Butt.
United are trying to keep-up with Manchester City’s recent successes over United in signing youngsters due to their state-of-the-art facility at City’s academy.
