If rumours are to be believed, Manchester United are looking to sign Leicester City midfielder James Maddison. Although, nothing is confirmed yet but reports state a potential transfer is in line for the creative midfielder.
Manchester United currently stand sixth in the table after twenty-one Premier League fixtures, three points behind fifth-placed Arsenal and six points behind Chelsea, who isn’t going to back down from the 4th spot, necessary to qualify for the Champions League 2019.
The Red Devils need to improve their performance if they want to have any chance of securing a spot in the top four. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to strengthen the key areas of the squad during the winter transfer window and this seems as an essential transfer.

According to reports from Caught Offside, United are interested in buying the 22-year-old attacking midfielder James Maddison, who currently plays for Leicester City. Maddison seems to be a perfect fit for Mauricio Pochettino style of play.
As per early and informal negotiations, the United board is looking to sign the Spurs boss as the long term manager for the Red Devils at the end of the season.
Also, Pochettino is preparing for life at Old Trafford by discussing transfer targets with club chief Ed Woodward and the Argentine is a long time admirer of the Foxes star. Therefore, a typical Pochettino signing may be around the corner.
Leicester City signed the young Englishman from Norwich City in the last summer transfer window on 20th June 2018 on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £20 million. The talented James Maddsion has scored 5 goals with 3 assists in his 19 Premier League appearances under manager Claude Puel.
Manchester United Latest:
The Englishman is a creative midfielder who can play as a forward as well if he wants to. The transfer value of the play-maker seems to be around 70 million euros.
James Maddison has created more goal scoring chances than any other English player playing in the Premier League so far this season and appeared to be at home instantly when he made his debut away to Manchester United.
The attacking midfielder is likely to be handed a first senior England call-up soon based on his performance in the league. Maddison received his first call-up to the senior team in October 2018 for the UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.
James Maddison(22) stats in all competitions for Norwich City and Leicester City during 2018: 42 games, 14 goals and 7 assists; also netting his first career hat-trick.
Ole Solskjaer is rebuilding the team after Jose Mourinho, who after spending around 300 million euros; buying one of the most expensive players wasn’t able to bring a positive outcome.
With Liverpool currently looking to start their era of dominance, the interim manager could well give them a tough run in by competing with them and pushing them to the edge. Even if results falter under him during a bad phase, his positive style of play and attacking mindset, United could very well have a bright future.
