Arsenal Prepared To Lock Horns With Man City For AS Monaco Wonderkid

nabil alioui

Arsenal are not yet over with the summer transfer window this season. After securing the signatures of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus, Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund, Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria and youngster Matteo Guendouzi from the French club Lorient, the North London club still seems to get linked to a whole lot of young players, in different positions, to further bolster their squad. One such prominent and promising name is of AS Monaco’s youth academy striker Nabil Alioui.[spacer height=”30px”]

According to reports in French publication RMC Sport, the 19-year-old is being chased by two top English clubs, one of them being Arsenal, and the other being champions Manchester City. It was also reported that both the Premier League clubs have held talks with Nabil Alioui s representatives, each trying to lure him away from Monaco and France, and add him to their ever-growing academy squads.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]The Premier League giants are confident of signing up the young striker, banking on their own ways. According to reports, Unai Emery’s side have invited the youngster to their training ground next week after talks were held with the player’s agent.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Meanwhile, City are hopeful of landing the player due to their positive relationship with his agent Patrick De Koster, who apparently also represents Kevin de Bruyne, and are thus confident of having an upper hand on this deal over the London club.[spacer height=”30px”]

Both English clubs have already signed a French youngster this season. While Matteo Guendouzi joined Arsenal from Lorient, the Cityzens snapped up Claudio Gomes from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.[spacer height=”30px”]

Arsenal Reportedly In Advanced Talks for Barcelona Midfielder With Player Extremely Keen On Move

[spacer height=”30px”]The teenager Nabil Alioui has not yet made his first-team debut for Monaco but is already considered as one of France’s highly rated young forwards. The 19-year-old is currently representing France at the Under-19 European Championships in Finland and has scored two goals in two matches so far, starting both the games.[spacer height=”30px”]

France will now face Italy in the semi-finals of the tournament, and to emerge victorious from the tournament, the French will bank on the talented forward to score goals in the semis, as well as in the finals, given they qualify.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Amid all these transfer rumours of the promising striker going to England, the French outfit have separate plans of their own. The Ligue 1 giants are keen to sign a professional deal with Nabil Alioui as soon as possible, his first with the club, and immediately loan him out to Belgian side Cercle Brugge for the whole season, which they believe will help him further develop his game and give him some first-team experience, and he could help the French club secure titles in the future, when he comes back from his loan spell.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Further, according to some sources, newly promoted English club Fulham, another London based club, are the third team besides Arsenal and City to keep a lookout for this young sensation of Monaco. Should any of these English clubs convince the Nabil Alioui representatives for the player’s transfer to their club, Monaco would only receive a compensation fee, which could be very less than the actual worth of the 19-year-old striker.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]In my opinion, the Emirates outfit should act quickly for securing the signatures of this young French sensation. When Nabil Alioui comes to visit Colney next week, after the end of the Under-19 European Championships, the main aim of the Londoners should be to try their best to close the signing of the player, by talking with his agent and also agreeing on a compensation fee with Monaco.[spacer height=”30px”]

Signing Nabil Alioui would mean securing the striker position at the Colney for many years to come, as well as preventing him from going to Premier League rivals, the Skyblues and Fulham. But Emery’s men would need to act quickly, with transfer window for Premier League clubs set to close in less than 3 weeks.[spacer height=”30px”]
