Arsenal chase for the signature of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic seems like the stuff of fantasy.
Allow me to pour cold water on recent reports that Ivan Perisic is coming to Arsenal, he isn’t. There was a suggestion of a loan deal last year, but that disappeared as the North London club went for their preferred option of Barcelona’s Dennis Suarez.

The reports suggesting Perisic prefers Arsenal to Old Trafford are speculative to say the least. The Manchester club were also said to be interested in the player, but have subsequently moved their attention to other targets.
At 30 years of age, the most likely destination in the latter stages of his career is to the lucrative Chinese league.
The Express said that Arsenal were prepared to offer the Croatian, £5.6 million a year in January 2019 but realistically, that figure is very unlikely coupled with a transfer fee thought to be in the region of £30m.
Dream on !
Yes, he can play a lot of roles in a side, left and right flanks, attacking midfielder and second striker, but is he yet another mature round peg in a square hole ?
Another highly paid star that chooses when or if he performs.
I’m not giving this rumour much credibility because there are younger and cheaper alternatives available and after hearing so much about the club’s financial problems, this move is completely daft.
Not to mention that Arsenal have a host of youngsters waiting in the wings, so unless Emery is hell bent on experience to tide the team over for two or three seasons, what exactly is the point ?

Perisic was also a handful during his time at Inter Milan, withdrawing his services to engineer a transfer which lead to him being banned from training with the first team in January.
It was later forgotten about ,but it does raise questions about his attitude and Emery won’t be keen to have any dressing room distractions on what could be a defining season for him and the club.
