Arsenal Express Their Views To £480,000-a-week Star That They Want To Sign Him Summer: Can Bring His Magic To The Emirates?

Arsenal, Philippe Coutinho

According to Mundo Deportivo (via Birmingham Mail), Arsenal have been monitoring Philippe Coutinho for the past few weeks and they have told his representatives about their objective also. Aston Villa signed the Brazilian in January on loan from Barcelona. The 29-year-old earns £480,000-a-week out of which is just less than a quarter of his total wages.

The playmaker has been sensational since his return and has found his form back. Since returning to the Premier League he has scored four goals while also assisting three times. He was struggling in Spain at Barcelona but was brilliant in his loan spell at Bayern Munich. Barcelona tried to get him back to his best but there were no signs of that and they decided to loan him to Aston Villa.

Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League and are looking strong to play in the Champions League next season with major bookmakers like online casino australia offering lucrative odds on Arsenal finishing within the top 4 next season. Therefore, they will need a good quality of depth in the squad to compete at the highest level in all competitions. The Gunners are looking for new playmakers and wingers to enhance their attacking ability.

Philippe Coutinho seems to have a soft spot for the Premier League and could perform even better with a bigger club in the English league. However, some Liverpool fans may not like the switch as he will be making a move to the rivals.

How Could Arsenal Benefit From The Brazilian?

Philippe Coutinho was one of the core players of the Brazil squad during the FIFA World Cup 2018. This shows he is a proper Brazilian and the Brazilian style of play fits in easily in almost every team nowadays. He can play as a left-winger who can cut inside to curl one in. He also has a good passing range which can help him to create chances from the left.

Moreover, Coutinho can also play as an attacking midfielder and is majorly known for the bangers he scores from distance. He has very good shot power and accuracy which makes him a danger to let roam free anywhere near the box. He is also good at finishing chances from inside the box and close range.

Coutinho can effortlessly beat the defenders in one vs one situations and create space for himself to either take a shot or make a killer pass. Teaming up with Odegaard, Arsenal will be no short of creating chances when Philippe Coutinho is on their side. The Gunners will also have a long-range weapon in their Arsenal with Philippe Coutinho when they are playing against the teams who play in a low block.

Should Arsenal Push To Sign Philippe Coutinho?

Aston Villa have the option to keep Coutinho permanently by paying £33.5 million. However, it remains to be seen whether Villa boss Steven Gerrard manages to keep hold of him or whether the Brazilian returns to his parent club Barcelona. However, if Villa slip in their pursuit, Arsenal are ready to pounce on that opportunity to seal a deal for Phillipe Coutinho.

Arsenal currently only have one proper number 10 and that is Martin Odegaard. However, they will be needing a player in case Odegaard gets injured or suspended. Coutinho would not let the absence of Odegaard affect the team. In fact, he could challenge the Norwegian for a starting place and might ultimately improve Odegaard too.

Coutinho is also excellent at set-pieces and this would increase Arsenal’s chances of scoring from a dead ball. However, they might have to pay the transfer fee which many may question if it is worth it for Arsenal. The player is 29-years-old and people may doubt for how many more years can he play. However, The Gunners should try to bring in the Brazilian in the next summer as if he does succeed, he can take Arsenal to the next level.
