READ: Why Ousmane Dembele Is Exactly The Player Arsenal Need

Ousmane Dembele

As the next Premier League season is at the doorstep, the race to sign the top players has gotten even more interesting as it enters its final phase. And in Arsenal’s case, some reports suggest that Barcelona starlet Ousmane Dembele could book his flight to the Emirates soon. It seems that the Gunners are working hard to tie knot with the newly crowned World Champion.

Earlier, it was estimated that Fc Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman was coming as it turns out it was false rumour that Coman has categorically denied now.

Meanwhile, this transfer season turned out to be quite satisfying with signing of some quality players like Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papathapoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. But manager Unai Emery is seriously in need of a good winger to complete his dream eleven.

As per the reports that Dembele wants to leave Catalonia after the club signed Brazilian winger Malcom from Bordeaux, beating AS Roma to his signature in €36 million deal. Their latest transfer request have left them furious.

Journalist Kike Marin, claims Arsenal chief scout Sven Mislintat has already contacted Barcelona over a potential deal for Dembele before.

“If dembele, angry, wants to leave Barca after the signing of Malcom, it is logical to think of transfer to Arsenal, and Mislintant already posed to Barça before,”

Marin tweeted.

Barca boss Ernesto Valverde in an interview, in May, spoke highly about the french winger saying :

“He’s an incredible talent, technically outstanding. He’s quick, a difference maker.”

In his first season at Camp Nou (alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Rakitic), Dembele spent most of the time injured suffering from a 4 month long hamstring Injury and appeared in just 12 games all season scoring 3 and assist 6 times.

It was indeed an underwhelming campaign for the French Superstar. It was none other than a miracle that despite being injured for the season, the former Dortmund star still got the call to Russia, which, on the other hand, shows his quality.

Although, Malcom’s arrival could work in the Londoners’ way as Dembele has been given a decent competition. The La Liga giants have spent a large sum of £134 millions last to summer in order to sign him from Dortmund and they may demand large sum of money to let him go in order to avoid any loss.

Sports 360 named Dembele ‘the flop of the season’, as they describe him as a huge disappointment.

Meanwhile, the Arsenal faithful have already started to get excited over the Barca star’s social media interactions with the Gunners, like the one in the screenshot below:

As a fan, I would love to see the World Cup winner come down to North London wearing a red and white jersey and scoring some for the fans. Past season, he didn’t get much chance to play due to his hamstring injury.

Dembele has to prove his mettle again, so it would be good decision if he choses to make the switch as he is still in his learning stage, they could nurture him to be the best in coming years.

There are some unique qualities in him that makes him stand apart from other players that can help Arsenal to score more and more goals.

As one of the rare quality we could ever find in a football player is being ambi pedal – which means one can play with either of one’s feet with next to no difference. It’s very rare that we find a player with such a unique trait. Imagine having Dembele in the squad, running the ball towards the left or right flanks with ease.

Because of his ability to use both feet, defenders are often left confused as they don’t know which foot he is going to use, also it would be heavenly to see his combination with his French teammate Alexandre Lacazette.

The wide playmaker has every quality that makes him a true Gunner – vision, creativity, speed, insane dribbling. With his incision in the team, they could be unstoppable.

To say the least, it’s a shot worth taking. Who knows we might the jackpot? So, if the the deal breaks out it would give surely offer the Emirates crowd much-needed hope.
