Manchester United are reportedly in a strong position to sign Leny Yoro after Real Madrid’s exit, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Yoro is considered one of the finest defensive talents in European football right now. The 18-year-old has already established his defensive credentials with his skill and talent. It’s most likely that the young center-back will shine in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have shown serious interest and prioritized the Yoro signing in the upcoming summer transfer window. They know that the young talent can be a great replacement for aging defenders like Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans. As both players are linked with exits from Old Trafford, United have to find a suitable replacement, and Leny Yoro fits the bill.
The young man has a great physique of 6ft 3in with great pace and strength. It would be very difficult for the opposition forward to get the better of such a wall.
United are linked with the Yoro transfer since December last year but they aren’t the only one in the hunt. The 18-year-old was also approached by Paris Saint-Germain but he turned down their offer. The agent of Yoro said he will stay with Lille until the end of the current campaign before deciding on his future.
Before PSG, there was the Spanish League giants Real Madrid who wanted Yoro on their side but things didn’t work out. On the other hand, Lille know that they won’t be able to hold on to Yoro for much longer owing to the unmatched talent of the young defender. Also, it’s most likely that he won’t extend his current contract.
Every player wants to grow and develop as their career progresses, join big clubs with world-class facilities and better surroundings, and quality teammates and an astute manager, and so does Yoro which is completely fine. Joining Manchester United will give a great stage to the young man to showcase his talent and improve further to unleash the hidden potential.

Manchester United Struggle
It’s not only Leny Yoro who needs to join The Red Devils, but also United who need a new center-back as they are dealing with players’ injuries, replacements, and more.
Two important players, Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans may leave United as their contract is expiring at the end of the season, while center-backs Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez have struggled with injuries throughout the season. So, the Red Devils need to find their filler before it happens.
It would be quite interesting to see how things progress. Yono has shown great potential so far, now it’s up to United how they proceed.
